I personally, think its overrated. I mean, believing evidence that the world is going to end in the year of 2012 off of a mayian tribe I think is stupid. Just because their calander ended on that date could mean alot of things. They could of just stopped making it because they thought it was pointless or they could of just forgot it. Whats your opinion about the world ending on 2012?

i just pulled a dumbass move and didn't read before I posted a new topic about the same thing lmao.. oops.. anyways. I feel the same way its a bunch of :bs: to make money, it really reminds me of the whole y2k scare and how we were all going to die when the computers hit 00:00:00 00/00/00. Yet nothing happened and we are still here today, so I'm thinking that people want to make more money so they're scaring the *bleep* out of people so they will buy all of this stuff to find out what is actually going to happen. Making a money maker movie out of the whole thing, it depresses me.

OK; It isn't just the Mayan tribes people! They have real scientific proof that even NASA acknowledge where we got a meteor at a rate of speed that's going to hit us by 2012, and like the movies; it is a very big *bleep* meteor. It isn't just Mayan BS.

Post link to information please.
Everything I've read is that there's a meteor that will pass closely by us and will make a possible return in the 2030s. I have yet to read any official documentation of a guaranteed collision with a meteor.

I do not think that the world is going to end at 2012, maybe later on but not at that certain date, really how could anyone know an exact date that that world is going to end?

No the bible is very clear that no one knows but the Father. Too many people are expecting the world to end in 2012 for the world to actually end in 2012.
I think the world will end when we figure we have everything all figured out. At that point people are going to be so confident that they are going to stop predicting the end of the world. . . And then the world will finally end.

not even the current people of the mayian ancestry believe that the world will end, 2012 was the end of a cycle in the calendar not the end of life

My personal view of why the calendar ends in 2012: back around 50 billion years ago, the Mayans were having some jolly good fun sipping tea and discussing their favorite TV shows, when in bursts their obnoxious friend Larry. Larry was like "HI GUYS! HOW'S IT GOING! HAVING FUN YEAH? CAN I JOIN? HUH? CANICANICANI?" The Mayans, wishing to avoid him, came up with a bogus story. "Um, yeah, Larry, um, ya see, we'd LOVE for you to hang out with us, but uh... look at the calendar! It only goes up until next year! Isn't that a MAJOR bummer? If only somebody were nice enough to make a calendar that keeps going until... uh... 2012 or something. If only..." Larry saw their sadness in lacking a calendar, and so an idea popped into his head! "Hey, ya know, I could totally make that calendar for ya, if you want?" And so the Mayans got Larry off their back for a week while he made a billion year calendar.

I dont believe the world will end in 2012. I do believe something major is going to happen and there will be some changes but I believe we will still be here :)
