Title: child start writing.... at what age????

At what age did you child start writing his or her own name?

2.5  3?  somewhere around there when I started teaching him certain things.

Same here my kids started pre-school knowing almost if not everything they were gonna learn there. I think it comes down to how soon you introduce this things to them.

I don't have any children but I knew how to write my name and everything going into kindergarten.

Yeah, we started early because they didn't go to pre-school but wanted them to be ready for kindergarten.

my son learned his nickname (tonos) at 3, his given name (antonio) by 3 and a half, and his full name (antonio luis ****) by the time he started head start, about 4. i owe part of this to my mom who really encouraged him to learn. she said she wanted him to learn early like i did. she says i knew how to write my full name (nadine leigh-ann ****) by the time i was 3, could read by 3 and a half, and that i was writing in cursive by the time i started kindergarten.
