I don't really collect anything but I know some people who collect the usual things like stamps, coins and dolls and then also some people who have really interesting collections such as collecting pigs, cows, coffee mugs, rocks, etc. Do you collect anything?

I hardly know where to begin! Over the years i've begun and ended so many collections. I've always had a soft spot for Broadway and had a huge collection of 78, 45 and 33 rpm original cast albums when I lived in NYC which I had to give up when I moved to California. I also had a beautiful collection of Theatre Arts Magazine from 1919 until 1962 when they stopped publishing. Wish I still had them all so I could just look at them all again. I have many posters and playbills and a large CD collection. When I was still running restaurants, I had a wonderful salt and pepper collection, all consisting of 30s and 40s Americana, from Smoky the Bear to Mount Rushmore. People would come to the restaurant, see my collection and when they got back home, find a treasure and send it to me. I used to love that. Collecting is great fun, but boy you can sure spend a lot of money doing it, can't you? I used to always stick to the thrift shops and garage sales when I could. Now I just have the best of the best around. Easier to dust.

Hi Uncle Sal, I much like you collected a lot of things over the years. They ranged from Barbie dolls, thimbles, pint glasses (mostly from the local pub), Chinese teacups and teapots to name a few. I still collect things like Waterford crystal and Beleek porcelain from Ireland. These days it's hard to add to my collections as money is very tight and sadly I had to sell off a few of my prize possessions. Times will get better though and I know I will be adding more to my collections in no time. ;)

No, I don't collect anything either.

I did sports memorabilia, but my team is really going down the drain lately, so I am not buying anything else, until they shape up.

I don't make it official or anything, but I do collect pens. I have a passion to find the best writing pen. I started to bring home a few years ago and now I have over thousands of pens. Sometimes I find one that is so good so I would save it and not use it. It goes into the collection box and dries out by the time I get back to it. This happens to most of my favorite pens. I spent a great deal of $ to collect them.

I've always lived by the philosophy of "If it don't make cents, it don't make dollar$"; so yes, I guess you can say that I'm a collector. I collect cans. I may turn around and exchange them for currency, but I keep the action of collecting going and going and going and going... I haven't gotten rich, but it's a decent way of keeping a little pocket change, as well as help with the environment-Hey, what can I say? Twos and fews make money too.

I have a nice collection of elephants. I have ceramic ones, ones that hold candles, elephant stirrers for drinks, elephant jewelry. My oldest elephant and my absolute favorite is a white ceramic one from my grandfather "Poppy". They all must have their trunks up, that's good luck! ;)

I've always collected one thing or another... When I was young, I'd collect pennies. Mom and dad would let me go into their purse / pockets (respectively) at the end of the day and take out any pennies that I found. Then on the weekend, I'd wash and dry the pennies (funny how I never got them shiny again. Maybe if I knew more about chemistry I'd realize that the grunge wasn't all dirt), and sort them by date and mint location. When I moved out to go to college, mom made me take the pennies with me, or cash them in. I opted for the latter and found that I had collected over $100 bucks! (Go figure.. Now I'm "collecting pennies" on PTC / GPT sites!)
I used to also collect stamps when I was young, but it took too much time and mostly I just got flag stamps or other worthless stamps from the envelopes that my parents got sent to them (if only mail marketers and bill collectors would use commemorative stamps or those old, rare ones worth hundreds of dollars)
Now my collections are keychains (I get one whenever someone goes on a trip somewhere and they want to buy my a souvenir), pint glasses (go to a bar that has promotional pint glasses for sale), and beer bottle caps (my favorite are the caps depicting all 5 Three Stooges (Larry, Moe, Curly, Shemp, and Joe) that I got from a bar in Buffalo, NY).
