I do not like reality shows, and comedy would be okay if it all wasn't so terrible that your kids find out where babies come from in the first episode.
-
Screw reality shows.
I watch TV to get away from reality.

Anything but reality tv. Reality sucks.

We need more comedy shows. Talking about where babies come from is kind of tame when compared to other topics on comedy shows, even on Network tv. I guess alot of people like the reality shows (which are at least fairly scripted to begin with) and dramas. I get tired of hearing about so much angst and people problems by watching reality shows or drama shows, that I enjoy comedy more. It is relaxing and a fun way to be entertained. The New adventures of old Christine, Gary unmarried, The Middle, and The modern family are my favorites right now.

I agree that reality shows can go away, and I don't really care for comedy. One of the things needed on television is better cartoons.
-
I would like to see more skit comedy shows that are actually funny. The old Carol Burnett shows were the best. SNL had some good years where they were consistant. Seems most comedy today leans on fat, fart, and gay jokes and that's even worse than the God awful reality shows.

i like a little bit of reality TV :) Please don't hold it against me...
My favorites are still the comedies though :)

I really don't like reality shows. I have enough reality in "real-life".
-
I don't like reality shows, there is nothing real about them.

I don't like reality shows. I wish they would bring back more comedy. Not the off color stuff they have now, you know the stuff that you are embarrased to have your kids watch it with you. I'm talking about the good clean comedy that they had 20 years ago, like the Cosby show. TV is hardly worth watching anymore unless it is oldies or sports.

I have to say that the reality shows on TV now are borderline :BangHead: However, the new "Jersey Show" has caught my attention. It's like watching a train wreck. You can't help it...I guess my excuse is that it's entertaining in a different way. The show expose the lives of the hotties in Jersey Shore. They are very unique and seem to have very few worries other than tanning, hair cut, partying and occassions fights. I can't know how much of it is really the true color of the stars, but it's quite interesting.
It's amusing to see a group of people partying their lives away and feel no regret. Isn't that kind of a fantasy for some us? Don't we sometime wish we can just get out of bed, hit the gym, go tan and ready getting to party til the morning? We can't so we watch these shows and we laugh when something goes wrong. That's when we say "that's why I don't live my life that way". It's just entertainment.

I agree with most of these answers to a tee. I guess the only reason they are shoving reality shows down our throats is that it is cheaper than hiring professional actors. Cartoons, I agree also, but the good ones, that were funny, bugs bunny, etc. I also liked the older skit shows, but you when you think about why we had them, the price tag to pay them was not a million an episode, they were not greedy, they acted because they liked what they were doing.

TV has gone to hell, the new comedy sucks and the reality shows are actually getting interesting which is a really bad sign because that shows you how much the rest of the TV networks suck. >:(
-
I hate reality shows. They are far from reality. I like comedies and shows that mix drama and comedy like Chuck. Chuck is my favorite show right now. Has a good mix of comedy, drama and action.

I watch reality shows...i cant help it!! I also watch a lot of csi n law n order!!

Im addicted to A&E reality shows, BUT they show a side to life most are not aware of or refuse to understand.
I think MTV & VH1 reality shows are geared towards tweens and teens. I know my oldest loves them, I don't get any to them at all. Its always someones backstabbing, hooking up or fighting with someone. I think there should be more comedies on t.v. But then of course I like to watch nickatnite to see all the old sitcoms I grew up watching.

reality shows are crap. they always have been. comedy is the way to go

I agree that most reality shows are garbage. For the most part, our home doesn't watch much reality based programming. The bulk of our viewing is hour long dramas. The only reality shows we watch are Survivor, which I still think is a strong show after 19 seasons, and my wife enjoys The Biggest Loser.
I rolled my eyes the other day at a commercial I saw for The Bachelor. I guess the guy is a pilot and one of the women on the show in a commercial made some statement along the lines of: "I bet Jake has a really big cockpit." Hardy har har har, ABC. You're hilarious. High quality entertainment there!

i don't like reality so because i don't see the point i watch comedy to laugh at jokes i can laugh at idiots treating eachother like crap without watching tv.
and what is the point of those stupid tv shows like the bachelor? over half of those people do it just for the fame and the marriage is over befor it begins.

Reality shows are so boring and sort of like watching a traffic accident.

Reality shows have gone way too far, I remember when MTV was awesome....now it's f***'n retarded. Oh well TV's bad for you anyways :)
