I was shopping with my daughter a couple days ago and I was wondering this. (shopping for TP) lol what do you think it is. lol And also why do we assume/forget that the stars don't use the toilet same as "normal" people  lol Its funny to me
-
I'm not embarrassed to buy any of it. It used to make me laugh when guys were embarrassed to buy condoms. The way they brag you would think they would be announcing their purchase.
Now I guess if it was Preparation H or an Enema or something, I would be embarrassed.
-
I think it's just cause it's such a private thing. I'm not anymore though. Cause if I see someone starring at me with the my big bulk of feminine products I think to myself "Unless they have a better way of catching blood or cleaning up after myself then they better say something now. If not I'm walking this bad boy to the front and paying for it." Lol it makes me laugh to myself of all the other ways they could think to replace what I need.

Haha I think it's one of those knowing it happens but not wanting to talk about it type things. It's like..everyone has come to terms with toilet paper but most men don't want to talk or think about a woman bleeding down there so therefore they don't even want to buy womens products or think about being in that section. loool.
I'm not ashamed to buy TP, pads, tampons, etc whatever but I am reaaally uncomfortable buying condoms. That's just a personal problem of mine. I've always been really shy about that sort of "stuff".
I think some men are awkward about buying that stuff maybe because they think it makes them look like a pervert (in some sense) :P
-
:sad1:+Because EVERYONE uses t.p.,, and only women use 'the other' !!!

^_^ There is nothing wrong with having safe sex. Although, one time my husband and I wanted to try those his and hers KY lube (I mean the commercial made it seem like having sex without it was like crazy compared to having sex with it). I went to go and pay for it and the cashier was like "Have a great night" lol. I probably should have shopped around and added more things to the basket, lol I didn't even really think of it till right when she said "Have a great night". I did have a great night though, I just didn't like the way she said it. Lol can't a girl buy some his and her lube without the cashier thinking dirty thoughts?

hmm, i remember buying pads/tampons as a teenager and
being a little embarrassed. i just always wondered if the cashier
noticed it at all -- and what they thought about it. "OH, she's on her
period!" ...thinking back on it, i guess that's about the only thing they
could have thought, hahah. its just strange that someone has that
little bit of private knowledge about you, when you buy such things.
my face definitely turned bright red when i caught lice about a year ago,
though. i made a mad dash to the store for the medicine shampoo
and i had a choice between walmart, kroger, and walgreens. and though
walgreens is more expensive, i didn't want anyone in line to see the bottle,
and that store is always dead compared to the others.
i could have died when i reached the counter. this cute, college-aged guy
was the one and only one working the register. i avoided eye contact and
was on the verge of tears as i walked out :o ... just my luck.

It has never bothered me buying "personal products" nor talking about them.
I took my youngest daughter to a near-by store to purchase some tampons a couple years ago.
I knew the woman working behind the counter very well and we were the only ones in the store.
Lisa(the clerk) asked Britt(my Daughter) if she wanted her to put them in a separate bag for her, sencing Britts embarrassment at coming in with her dad to by feminine products.
Being the thoughtful and considerate person that I am......yes I am......I decided to lighten the mood a bit and looked at Lisa with a very serious expression and said "What do you think about this now.....Britt says them arn't like que-tips...you can't just turn them over and use the other end???"
Lisa AND Britt bout died as I was LMFIAO!!!!

I hear ya about the lice shampoo My sis-in-law had to buy some for her nieces and she was so embarrassed to pay for it we also went to walgreens lol but we paid at the makeup counter there never is a line there lol.

I don't get embarrassed about those kinds of things. I used to when I was younger. I've came to terms with it. I see it as something that happens to all women and that's okay. Everyone is aware of it and if someone knows, oh well.
The same with personal products like condoms and what have you. People have sex. People want condoms. People want lubricant. If they have a problem with it, then they best provide a solution! lol :)
-
I used to when I was younger but not anymore. When I was younger, my dad asked me to take my sister out and talk to her about it, so I took her to Walmart and got her some tampons. I also got her first bra. I am sure she would just love me if she read this. LOL

My sister got me my first bra too lol I actually don't remember buying anything for my self till I was living on my own. Bet she would love it lol Is she a member here?

For some reason, I was embarrassed to buy pads when i was younger...lol dont know why but now I am not. I think the reason why we are not embarrassed to buy tp because its almost like a need....people would be gross out if there was no tp in your bathroom!!

Lol I was thinking that but I have never had a cashier tell me to have a great night, usually they tell me have a nice day. Lol she sort of looked at us like right when we were done paying for it we were going to bust the bottles open and use them right there. Lol there is probably a good chance though, that I was the one with the dirty mind. I kind of yelled at my husband because he always makes me pay for something when he's embarrassed about what it is. We laughed about it on the way home though.

Just like t.p these products are for human natures cleaning up! Obviously most of us don't wanna smell like feces when we are in public so we use t.p. Would you like to smell like dried blood because essentially that is what would happen is it would dry up on your skin and you'd probably not smell your best!

First I like reading the prior post from the guy who buys for his girl without discomfort. Good for you.
When I was a teen I was self conscious about purchasing tampons, but then teens think everyone is looking at them, etc. Of course as an adult it never mattered.
What is interesting to me is that I never thought about this subject until it was brought up in the forum. And of course the answer that is obvious to me is that Tampons/etc. are women's products. TP is for everyone.

My mother used to make me go to the store to buy modess (they still sell them?) i always wondered why my older brother wouldnt go. now i have no proplem buying them for my wife i guess its just conditioning.

I HATE IT WHEN MY WIFE TELL ME TO RUN IN THE STORE TO BUY THOSE STUFF BUT I DO IT ANYWAY. I NOT ONLY BUY THAT, I ALSO GRAB A CANDY BAR SO IT WONT BE THE ONLY THING I BUY.

I don't see the big deal with any of it. tp, tampons, pad, condom. None of it bothers me. I usually buy it put it in the cart and then continue shopping. If some busy body wants to look in my cart, then I guess they can just be embarressed enough for both of us.
