this mornin on the today show they did a piece on people mainly women returning undergarments back to the stores. I wont name the stores but well known and popular.I cant say they were worn or tryed on. But one store employee took the garment and imediately put back on the sales floor. Do alot of women do this? try on and for whatever reason return? Im not blaming the returnees if they dont fit they dont fit bring them back. But the stores resell them so buyer beware
Man im glad i buy my
Fruit of the Looms in packages

Never buy opened packages! Especially if they are taped - not a good sign ;)
You can tell if they have been opened, even if they try their best to put it back again.

While the thought is gross, I would think washing any new items you get in a store before wearing in hot water. and then drying in a dryer on normal would kill anything on the items. I mean, how is it any different than buying something from a Goodwill, Salvation Army, consignment shop, or thrift store?
I actually saw a similar story on our local news a few weeks back, but it was just about clothes in general at stores. They took various types of men's and women's clothing items from various stores and took them to labs for analysis. Pretty much everything had something on them, whether it be fecal matter, e-coli, breast secretions, other secretions, viruses, etc. The fact is, you don't know who has been touching the items, trying them on, or if they were bought and returned and what happened to them between that time. The best thing is to ALWAYS wash clothing items from stores before wearing them.

That is soooooo discusting.

i agree....it is very discusting.... :sad1:

That is truly gross. But I have seen a woman return an off white Robe back to a store and it was filthy. The clerk told me they accept things like that back to avoid arguing with the customer. She said things like that are returned back to the manufacturer.
How can people returned apparel back to the store is such horrible conditions. I never buy underware that is loose or not packaged. Some women are just disguisting and nasty.

I would never buy opened underwear! That's just unhygienic and disgusting! Also, people, let's not try to return opened underwear...either wear it or throw it out, but let's be conscientious!
-
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww yuck! I hope they do not have any sergeant stripes in them

Stokeman455 In reguards to the returning of the underware, that was really messed-up!!! Hope they washed the item at least! But,you never know? I saw that first thing this morning too, on the Today Show. Why would someone return Victoria Secrets though? :dontknow:

I think it's a disgrace that women would do such thing. That's just plain nasty! Not to mention the transmit of disease from the process. That's why buying merchandise from certain retailer is a risk. You can save money but gain more of something else. It's just sad.

This is a big NO NO, they are not supposed to do this, and I usually buy mine in a pkg too, just hope the manufactures don't take them for a test drive. lol.
-
It's rather repulsive that people would return worn undergarments and swimsuits. I always wash everything just to be safe!
-
i always thought they would throw stuff like that out or something never really thought bout any of this
-
I DIDNT THINK YOU WERE ALLOWED TO TAKE UNDER GARMENTS BACK TO THE STORE.
-
That is totally disgusting. and skanky. I buy mine in unopened packages and i was them before i put them on, just in case ;) ;D

I've seen this before. And it was at a department store called Roses.
She was also returning a used toilet seat.. and the company gave her the money back. I was so disgusted
I don't even go there anymore.
