Unbelievable that someone within the industry could sit and let that happen and think it's okay. With all that is involved in just getting on a plane to go somewhere, security screenings and searches and no lotions or pocketknives, etc, to think that safety isn't taken seriously in the control tower is mind boggling for me.

I cannot believe that a professional Air Traffic Controller could be that stupid and irresponsible to do something like that.  I think he should be suspended to teach him a lesson that he is dealing with peoples lives and not puppets.  One of the perfect reasons I don't fly.

He needs to be fired! If your little brats are bored than buy them a psp, give them a snack and make them sit down some where. You don't endanger the live of hundreds of people just because you wanna get brownie points from your kids!  >:(

I think that people need to chill out a little bit it was take your child to work day. Who cares. and so what if his kid spoke to a pilot. His dad, the professional, was right with the kid. It would be different if he had just left the kid alone but he was right there. If the kid screwed up then he would just have to take the radio and correct it. Obviously people are sensitive about the air security since 9/11. I understand that. But we can't be so uptight that we're going to bash on a father for letting his kids say only a few words with him sitting there. Let's not change the way America used to be chill out and trust that people know what their doing. We don't hate cops that take their kids to work and let them talk on the radio.

I agree no harm no foul, Kids were told what to say they wernt just making things up they were well watched im sure.  from the audios i heard pilots didnt seem to mind either. If you have take your kids to work day why not let them see and participate in your job  within reason  i think that was within reason. If the Kids were screening people at security locations  that would be another story.

This is the first I've heard about that. I'm glad no one was hurt or anything. It sounds like the father was in control of the situation, though.

Haven't heard about that. But that's so ridiculous. Putting something like that in a child's hand is very dangerous. Put a lot of people's lives in danger...

I also agree on this, they werent doing anything that was putting people in any danger or bad situation, not like they let them land a plane or something they were just telling the pilot what the dad told them to say. no harm no foul.
