I feel like i am doing pretty fine with my Windows XP and i kept it because i heard Windows vista had lots of problems. Now that windows 7 has come out, is it time to upgrade?

If your current computer can handle it, or you really want to get a new one, I'd upgrade. Windows 7 is much, much better than Vista. I'd love to upgrade my XP box/get a new machine; I just don't have the cash money.

I am not sure what the hype is about. I feel like I should be fine with runing just windows XP ( i mean it got me through the worst of times) but whenever i see my friends running windows 7 i feel... inferior for some reason. I wonder if it is worth $100 software upgrade. i mean it does "look" nicer, and my computer can handle it, but is it really worth it?

If you enjoy a more user friendly interface, go ahead. The speeds of windows 7 and vista differ by a fraction of a second[windows 7 being the slightly slower one].

I just read somewhere that windows XP has better battery life than windows 7. This is a very big turn off to upgrade my laptop. :sad1:

Well XP was the best thing Microsoft has ever done in the past 10 years. In my personal opinion XP should be on EVERY machine. The only downside to XP is the networking features, vista and windows 7 have a better GUI for non tech savvy people. And it makes sense that windows 7 should take up more battery life because it uses way more resources to run the bare minimum compared to XP

Back in Oct. 2009 I bought a new computer it came with windows 7. Asa matter of fact I bought this computer 2 days after windows 7 came out. It's okay.I really don't know what all the hype is about. I can say this my daughter has a laptop with windows vista on it and she perfer to come to my house and get on my computer.

Windows 7 is noticeably faster but I don't like it because W7 doesn't support OpenGL and I play a lot of OpenGL games, and plus i get high latency. When I had XP it was fine. I might just revert back to XP if I can find my XP disks!

Stick with XP, I say!!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Ever heard that before? Wait until you buy a new computer some day and it comes with it.

I plan on switching to Windows7 on my desktop. We have it on our new laptop and I liek alot of the features it adds. It only cost us $15 with a company discount. :)

windows 7 is pretty amazing. Completely worth the upgrade from vista to 7. I got my copy for free though, so of course it was worth it =)
