My neice has juvenile type 2, and it was very scary the day that we found out. She was at a basketball game and collapsed and had to be flown to Indy in a helicopter. Very scary, but she's doing ok now.

I have type 2 myself. I just watch my carbs. I can only eat about 30 g carbs at breakfast. Exercise helps with blood sugar too, even just a walk. I was taught that one carb serving is 15 grams. So for breakfast I have 2, lunch is usually 3, snack is up to 2, supper is 3 or 4, and then my last snack is up to 2. I was on insulin while I was pregnant and that may be an option for your DH. There are also several medications that help with blood sugar. Metformin (glucophage) is one. Is your DH on anything right now? Is he having lows or highs?

he is currently on metformin, and his levels have been normal, but he is having blurred vision, and vertigo now
