My wisdom teeth have all come in, and so I need to brush farther back when I brush my teeth (I don't have the money to get them removed), and sometimes, this causes me to gag. On rare occasions, the gagging is so severe that I've vomited a little.
Has anyone had gagging issues while brushing their teeth and know any good cures?

My wisdom teeth are gone, yet when I brush my teeth, I gag. I don't know what the solution is. If there is one, that will be great because its annoying for me to brush my teeth after I eat breakfast. I try not to think about throwing up, so I'm able to contain the problem. I'm chubby and have a lot of padded stuff around my neck. lol

here's a link for taming the gagging reflex: http://www.dentalfearcentral.org/gagging_dentist.html (http://www.dentalfearcentral.org/gagging_dentist.html) it's something to start with. I've ALWAYS had an issue with gagging and brushing...and taught myself to stop by breathing differently. hope this helps!

I only gag when I brush my tongue really far back.

My brother told me that in the Marines they actually taught him to brush 'em til you gag. I think it actually helps to clean the bacteria off of your tongue or something.

I always gag when I brush my teeth. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one.
