Title: Health Care changes
Post by: lbeery on April 21, 2010, 05:11:33 pm
Does anyone understand or know where a person can find out the real story on the new Obamite health care plan.  I can't seem to find any real information about it and don't know how it will effect me and my family.  What is it really going to do for us.  I would love to gain some understanding about it.

Health Care Reform Changes in 2010:

Children ages 26 and younger will be able to remain covered under their parent's health insurance.
Health insurance companies will be banned from excluding coverage fore pre-existing conditions for children.
Health insurance companies will be prohibited from levying annual limits and lifetime limits on coverage.
This act will also do away with co-payments and there is more.  You can find out by gogglin "Health Care Reform Act" or even logging on to Facebook.  You can also view this blog: "7 Most Important Things the New Health Care Bill Will Affect!" at http://www.healthcarebill2010.info/

Thank you for the information.  Some of this I knew but didn't find a helpful site when I googled it....just news station skim over.  I will check this out.  I had great trouble getting my own insurance even though I have never been seriously ill.  One company excluded me for having a mole removed from the corner of my lip.  Can you belive it?

Oh, I can believe it! And since going through cancer treatment (I am a breast cancer survivor.), it doesn't matter whether you can afford your insurance coverage or not.  Your medical insurance may cover some things but not others.  Your medical may cover basic test and treatments and exclude surgery.  It also depends on what hospital you go to or what doctors you see.  I learned all of this while I was receiving treatment.  One doctor or hospital may not cover anything, request a large co-payment, place limits on what treatments can be done while another hospital will cover everything.  It like going shopping for the best treatment.  I know, it took me two months to find a hospital that specialized with breast cancer and covered everything including most of my co-payment.  This only happened because the hospital is a client of the company I'm employed with.  Otherwise, I don't know what would have happened.
