what signs too look for when someone is not interested in you

The main sign to look for is if the person is paying any attention to you or not. If they are totally ignoring you then it's obvious, in my opinion, that they are not interested in you. If they pay attention to you and try to get to know you then they may be really interested in you. But that too can be tricky sometimes so you have to really pay attention to their body language and their actions when they are around you.

I agree and it's also better to find out as quick as you can or you'll spend a great deal of your time thinking about that person only to find out they're not in to. you

Well it depends on what kind of relationship we are talking about if this is a person you just met and are getting to know then you would want to see if he calls you often or does he answer your calls promptly. If this is your boyfriend is he canceling dates on you is he not answering your calls like he used to. If we are talking about a husband then I would have to think he is not interested in me anymore if he is distant,avoids me,picks fights,stays out late (more then normal) and doesn't answer your phone calls. In my opinion this last one also happens when they are cheating :(
