Me....Bubble gum.

I think they need to figure out how much pressure it is generating so they can then use a greater amount of pressure to put a replacement pipe over that one with a new seal and cap it. I don't know if they have figured out what amount of pressure is actually be generated from the oil spewing out. That would be the first step into making the right decision when it came to the equipment they use to fix it. I think the concrete would of worked but they didn't figure out the pressure thing. I don't know just blowing smoke I guess, But it want belong til we down here will not even be able to go into the water here on the coast. I live very close to biloxi and you can see nothing but the orange booies all over the place. But we got some idiots messing them up. :BangHead: :bootyshake: :bs: :angry7:

I don't know but they better figure something out soon. We are talking about the birth place of our food chain.

Id use these guys
Lamar McKay (L), president and chairman of BP America, Steven Newman (C), president and chief executive of Transocean, and Tim Probert (R) president of global business lines and chief health, safety and environmental officer for Halliburton, participate in a Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee hearing

Bubble Gum also.

Call me nieve but I don't understand why someone can't just close a valve somewhere and turn off the flow instead of wasting time trying to plug it. If it is flowing through a pipe, there has to be a source where it's coming from. Just shut the thing off. :BangHead:
-
@fotoguy, I'm with you. It seems they would have a shutoff valve every so many feet/miles. It is fast approaching 1b dollars in damage.
-
I would say shut off valve too, but of course, this is probably not likely, because this was not planned for, like obama said in his speech this hasn't happened in a long time, they weren't probably spending any money to avoid an accident like this, sort of like purchasing life insurance for some, they don't do it, because they don't think they will die. That would have to be alot of Bubble Gum!!!!

ciggerette used filters or unused tampons lol think about it then all we do is scoop them up and wala x :angry7:

Hey Martin, I know you from PS! Hi!
As far as what I would use, I think it is more of a who than a what, but I know I am better off not to name names.
-
if they can cap it why cant they just run pipe til they can control it? any way how about hair and grease lol that always clogs up my pipes.
-
the bp president and the rest of them

DUH....they blew up the valve and killed 11 people..there is no valve..that's the HOLE problem..no pun intended.

I'm not sure what the solution is but i'm sure the answer is probably a real simple one that they are over looking. With all the technology we have today I can't believe they haven't come up with something yet.

I would not cap it because it can't be done! I would have a huge concrete funnel made similar to a transmission funnel for automobiles. Then attach a discharge hose at the small end of the funnel to discharge the oil and gas to a oil & water seperator onboard a tanker on the surface.
I would then lower the concrete funnel wide end first down over the blown out well.
The oil and gas that is spewing out would then go up the funnel into the hose on it's way to the oil tanker. This may not be a permenent solution, but it would stop the flow of oil into the Gulf. It would buy them more time and to concentrate on the oil clean up from the damage allready done.

Oh, lol, that is so true! And yes, Martin, it truly is a small world really. Several of my PS friends on here, probably more than I know.

Obama's chances at being elected for a second term. Those are quickly running down the drain anyway.
