Title: Walking
Post by: tigerlilly01 on June 11, 2010, 05:15:41 am
Do you walk for exercise?   I LOVE to be outside, so when it is nice my favorite exercise is walking.  Of course I'm not in that great of shape but I do wear a pedometer and shoot for 10,000 steps for the entire day.  Some days I exceed this and some days I fall very short but I do enjoy walking.  It gives me a chance to pray, think and plan my day....... off I go ....

I love to walk.  I don't necessarily do it for exercise it just so happens that I walk a lot.

;DGreat subject.  I, too, enjoy walking but do not do it enough.  Began walking this spring, but had sciatic probs and bursitis in my him :'(
But that's clearing up.  I need to get one of those podometers, though.  I live on a big hill and coming back up is a challenge.  We have a couple of great parks with tracks and also a track at the local high school.  Do you guys have a regular time you go, or play it by ear. 8)

I love to walk. I do it a lot on my job, but I also walk for exercise. It is a great way to be outside getting exercise and not be in a gym.

I take a stop watch with me and walk one half hour everyday except Sunday.  I really enjoy walking and thanks to it I've lost 32 lbs. in 3 months.

Ilove to walk.  Walking is great for the whole body.  It gets you blood to pumping.

I walked without fail for years and years.  Then I started taking my dog with me, and it turned into more or less a dog walk, and they always stop to sniff and pee, etc.  I need to get back in the habit of walking ALONE.

Let me qualify, I also watch what, when and how much I eat.  I stay away from the processed stuff and the sugary garbage too.  Eating and exercise modification together are really THE dynamic duo.

I aim for 2-8 miles per day, depending on how my pain level is...and yes, watching your food is abolutely key to the slimming down too.  right now, I can only attempt mild inclines, as the lyrica has destroyed my depth perception.  I used to LOVE hills and mountains.

I used to walk a lot but now I just take the car. I keep fit by playing sports with my friends or at the gym.

I walk as often as I can. But in the summer, I am so active outside with yard work and etc that it becomes my exercise. I also lift weights 3 times/week. If only I could stop drinking beer, I could lose some weight.

I love to walk.  My daughter and I walk 3 times a week at this really nice park not to far from our house.  We walk 3 to 4 miles. We used to walk 8 miles but we have gotten lazy.

I love to take walks. When my Ex had my Car, my Son and I had to walk everywhere. It was a bit hard when we had to carry groceries home but it was more of a work-out that way. Now that I have my car back I drive everywhere just because I CAN...pretty soon I'll start walking again.

I personally walk just because I enjoy it. I love to be outside getting some exercise while being able to look around me and see all of the beautiful things in life.  :peace:

I don't have a car right now, so I walk everywhere!  It's easy to do in a small town.    I love walking, but then there are some days when I really wish I had a car.

I was walking for exercise,  as well as jogging occasionally, but the past month I've been having digestive problems and since I haven't been eating much, I don't have the energy to exercise. Besides, I'm underweight as it is, and I can't afford to lose any more. If I could eat a lot to make up for it, I would enjoy walking and jogging.
