It seems that every other forum on the internet is able to have structured conversations about things on their forums, such as a major announcement or speculation on the future of a product or idea. For the most part, people here just come up with dumb topics to talk about, like "What is the weather where you are?" and "Is stealing wrong?", among other silly things. What is it exactly that prevents the FC forum from having actual content as opposed to silly, mindless posts?

People are just trying to come up with something to talk about.
I dont really appreciate your title as troll posts. Did you know that people that live in the lower part of michigan are called trolls.

I HAVE A SOLUTION TO YOUR PROBLEM; DONT READ THE FORM. DUH!!!!
2. MAYBE YOUR JUST READING THE OFF TOPIC SECTION OF THE FORUM.
)(ANYWAYS, WHO LIKES TALKING ABOUT IMPORTANT STUFF ANYWAYS!!!!)(

Troll is a common forum slang term for someone who posts random threads about nothing for the mere purpose of it. It was an ironic name since this is actiually a troll post about...troll posts. Go figure.
From the Bible of the Internet: (Wikipedia)
"In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion."

gafee i think its a bit hash of you to say something like that (not saying you are not right about what you are saying) but to me if you think sombody post a stupid topic its simple dont take part in it avoid it
-
So start a discussion.
-
Sometimes mindless topics are needed in the fast and crazy lifes of some people I enjoy some mindless posts cause it reminds me to not always be so serious or just to chill..I think post what ya want and read what you want you want discussions then go for those ignore the ones that you find as trolling but do not take someones right to post as they wish..You would not want someone to offend you by being rude about your post .. :peace:

$3 for 30 posts a month. Isn't that reason enough to come up with dumb posts? And there is an off-topic section too..
-
Gafee2001, do what I do. I look for interesting topics to respond to. Not all the topics appeal to me, so I avoid the ones that I think are ridiculous and meaningless. It would be good to have more structure in the forums on FC, but for now create a topic that you think is worth discussing.
-
To the OP, what are your ideas for a meaningful post?
-
I think it's all about content. Have you ever noticed how often Fusioncash forum posts show up on the first page of Google results? Can you even speculate on how many people find them that way?
-
No way! Meaningless topics in an off topic board? How unheard of? The audacity of people posting off-topic posts in an off-topic board! The idea just makes me sick!
Okay that should be enough sarcasm to get my point across.
1. Some of the topics posted here are actually meaningful to the people who post it. Just because it doesn't seem so to you doesn't mean it doesn't to anyone else.
2. Starting a silly topic to call other topics silly is just....silly.
3. Isn't it the point of this section to be random?
4. What content would be suitable for a Fusion Cash forum to you? I don't think everyone wants to talk about how they spent about 20 minutes trying to get to the end of a survey only to answer a question about whether they were Cuban or not, just to get sent back to the start. With no payoff and 20 minutes of their lifespan gone.
5. Complaining about other topics doesn't make it any better. Start ones that are meaningful to you. Maybe then they all won't seem so "dumb."
-
Structured topics are available here on FC and some very good threads about serious sometimes run for days. Off topic is where the freedom to speakout is underwritten by Fusion Cash. Some posts are stronger than others but any that draw a response are inherently of value. I have es pressed sentiments like yours but discovered the support boards were the appropriate place to post them. Its open season out here.

I also think Trolling has more of a negative connotation behind it. The people posting troll posts are trying to provoke others into arguments. Asking what the weather is like in your area may be random, but I wouldn't consider it to be a troll post... But we do get some troll posts in here as well. Just gotta take the good from the bad, read what you want, and ignore the rest.

You should have came up with a good discussion instead of this stupid one. I believe that we just get on here and have some fun

I agree with this the silly little random posts are not trolling. The trolls are the ones not looking for a debate rather they are looking for an argument. And the trolls are hard to figure out sometimes, cant tell if they are generally wacked out ( you know who you are) or just trolling.
