My grandmas recipe for german pancakes(crepes)

Heres is a good yummy recipe my grandma left me with and kids love them..

4 eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
3 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon vinegar
4 cups milk

Beat eggs well add salt, sugar and vinegar.Beat well..Add flour and part of milk beat. Gradually add the rest of the milk and beat. Heat large frying pan on med high with small amount crisco. When crisco is melted and coats pan add enough batter to where it thins out around the whole pan.once you see that the batter has thickened and became pancake like flip.Walla you have done it..You need to make sure the frying pan is coated with crisco for every pancake..Your pancakes should be as big as a plate and paper thin. Also light brown on each side..Good Luck let me know if anyone trys it..Also you can cut this recipe in half to make a smaller batch..And if you want to give the kids a treat add flavored pop instead of milk..

i always make my crepes with perrier so that they are light and airy from the carbonation without the sweetness of using sprite or 7up. i don't like them to be sweet because i stuff them with a creamy cheesecake dip or a nice thick spread of nutella and then top them with a sweet strawberry compote.

Ok...here's my "review".  I made these with orange Crush because we are having a heatwave here and I thought that would be a nice summer touch.  My dogs love pancakes (pancakes are considered a "treat" and they get them once every month or two, usually from McDonalds because no matter how hard I try with a recipe or boxed mix...either they fall apart into a doughy disaster during the "flip" or they turn out hard like they were made from  cement, or they burn to the pan).   For the dogs, instead of Crisco I used organic coconut oil (from health food store) which has health benefits which seem to work for them.  The recipe & directions were super easy to follow, I thought I was "in over my head" when I started adding the pop but then it seemed to get better when I was mixing.  This was a summer brunch item this morning so I used a little scoop of vanilla ice cream, sliced strawberries, and some crushed walnuts for filling.  I made the "big" batch and then just froze the extras to use on busy mornings.  These are SO GOOD!!  No need to go to McDonalds anymore   nothing burned, the "flip" had everything holding together.  I think I need to practice more and get them more paper thin-like, I really think I goofed when adding the right amount of soda because the batter seemed thick-- but these are the BEST!!  So I'm adding a picture of my first pancakes (crepes) before they got the filling.  :)).   Thanks so much for the recipe ButterflyWings, you made me feel so "Rachel Ray" today!  (lol)   (http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/7205/2010070811.jpg)
