start over?
Okay, where did this come from? Well, I had weird dream last night & I woke up & I was 10 again. It was really creepy the thing is I was ten again yet I knew everything my adult self knows now. A voice in my said do you want stay 10 for a week & go back or do you want stay forever & start over? Before I could answer the question, I woke up again this time back in my adult body. MMMMM, so, if I did answer the question, I would say NO WAY, I'd stay a week & be kid again but I wouldn't start over, it was hard the first time around. Ya, I know why, not; all the advantages such as knowing what is selling or not & go into stocks, knowing mean tricks your siblings & enemies at school was going to do to you. Who never to get involve with, fashion trends,which friends are going to stab you in the back....etc. I thought about what behaviors that are a norm now; would be not back then. I don't think I can take giving up my well earned open mind for youth & ignorance. I don't think i could take another 30 yrs to retrain my parents to the limited open mind they have now. It wasn't easy training the PARENTAL UNITS! So, WHAT WOULD YOU DECIDE GIVEN THIS CHANCE? :wave:

Wow fun question, I would stay a week but leave a very detailed letter to myself about what to invest in and things to avoid. There are a lot of bad decisions I made though that got me to where I am today. Like if I hadnt have dated that loser that introduced me to my roomate would I have met my husband who used to go to school with my roomate? I could have avoided a lot of pain but I wouldnt be where I am today? re living the whole thing could be hard though I might do better with my grades!

Interesting discussion! A lot has changed in the world that could be taken advantage of, and even in those ten years I have some very huge regrets. But yeah, definitely, one thing I'd do is find a way to get into my parents bank account somehow and get my little booty into the stock exchange. ;D My parents would thank me later.

Um no I wouldn't stay. The 90's were great but there's really nothing I would do differently. Why risk messing things up? LOL

I would stay and start over and avoid the boy that ruined my life when I was 12.
marrieelissa your so brave, as for me, still chicken. Still, knowing what you know now, why don't you not avoid him & turn the tables on him! Revenge is a dish best served cold. Though, now in present time, I hope this jerk who ruined your life no longer has this power over you. If it is so, now is the time to take that power back! He isn't worth it.

Maybe, I think that its unfair to just hit "restart" and that everyone has to age. ::)

It would be nice. I would be thinner and have more energy. I also wouldn't have to worry about bills or a job.

Interesting question.....I might do it all again and change the little things (I wouldn't get fat, that's for sure). But I wouldn not change the major things, I would keep the same hubby, have the same kids.

I wouldn't stay it was fun when it happen, but been there done that!! Besides as an adult I get to do all the fun things I did when I was ten, but wit the power of me setting the limits not my mom or dad!

Interesting concept; at first I didn't realize that you meant go back in time to your 10 year old body -- that makes it even more interesting. But no, I wouldn't want to go back to age 10.
Now if you made it age 25 in the current day and age with all the resources that I have on hand now -- I'd accept in a heartbeat. But going back in time to the limited resources and years of work still ahead of me -- nope.
I'll take what I have today, weary old body and all.

He is trying to find a way to return to normal but until he is able to, he is undercover solving crime mysteries and letting another detective get the credit.

Case Closed? I used to love that show. I'm thinking about buying a bunch of episodes on DVD. That was one of the most creative, interesting detective shows on TV.

Oh fun question, but I would choose not to stay in my 10 year old body as tempting as it might be, been there done that. besides my childhood was a bit rough around the edges and I'd rather not revisit that time, sure there are still certain parts of my childhood I miss, but I'm happy that I'm an adult now. anyway I'm still very young at heart, and sometimes I still feel like I'm a kid. meaning sometimes I can still tap into that place inside my heart that little person who enjoyed the simple things, and was always exited about things that people take for granted. so I dont need to have my childhood body back to feel young or enjoy life. :)

I remember an episode of Star Trek: TNG that Captain Picard and a few others were made 10 years old again, it was a pretty good episode. For me, I would be 10 again only if the year I was 10 would be the year I would be 10 again. I could relive many great moments.

I would not want to live my life over. I know everyone says, "If I had it to do over again I would do it all different." This may be true but I'd rather leave things the way they are than go through everything again. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and everything happened exactly the way they were supposed to. The best thing to do is accept the past and move forward.

Like the bowl of petunias in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - I'd say "Oh, no, not again." Been there once - don't want to go back - life keeps getting better for me, so have no interest in going backward.

Given the chance I would stay but in my 21 yr. old body. Lol! Still want to be old enough to date, drink, and have fun. But I love the body I had at 21. lol! :peace:

You have real courage! All the others are saying No Way! Including me, I'm a big chicken even with the knowledge that I know now to use as a weapon but how does a 10 yr face hell all over again? Knowing that the people that you will encounter will be in the same plan as they were 10 years ago.

mmm thats tough to answer--on one hand staying 10 and starting over would be nice cuz i messed up financially--lol but on the other hand--i wasnt one who liked school--even though i did good--i just didnt like it--I think i would need to agree with the person that said they would leave a detailed letter to myself! LOL

This is a fun one to read and see what other people answered! I don't know what I would do. Think about all the things you could change! Save every penny and put it in a bank account, change majors in school, stay fit and active, etc. On the other hand, you'd have to redo school (sucks), and you'd be stuck living with your parents. Plus, I don't know if I'd want to grow up in this time. When I was a kid, you could go down the block alone and promise to be home before dark. When the streetlights went on, Mom would yell for me to come home from 4 houses away. You can't do that now! You would have to be watched every second. The economy is worse and the schools are like mini prisons. I think I would just stick with what I have-I'm happy with life for the most part :)

There are some things I liked about being 10. I guess I'd stay 10 for a little while, but I'd eventually like to be an adult again.

I dont know about a 10yr old, but i do wish I knew then what I know now.

Id have to agree with those who say they would leave a letter to there selves but knowing my luck poor Bill Gates would be homeless and bankrupt LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D

On one hand starting over at the age of 10 and knowing everything YES i would do it. If i could change all the pain and everything that i struggle with everyday and make it gone. YES it would be great. I would be giving up alot and you never know what you would get out of life otherwise. I think about this alot of i could go back and change things. If I was giving the chance I would go back and stop the man from raping me.

I don't reget anything that I've gone through in this lifetime. I wouldn't change a thing.

If I could be sure I would still have my same child at some point, I might think about it.
