With all these TV shows of over weight human beings : it makes me wonder how many of us are prone to eating Mcdonalds as a quick and easy meal. To actually eating at home or just have a small snack as a fruit or a veggie. This problem has become more common as the years have come by. One i blame technology and two i pay the poor eating habits due to lack of time.
I actually would eat anything under god's sun! I :heart: all fruits and veggies.

Yeah, I'm that way, too! I can probably eat grass if I have some salt nearby...
It makes it easier to eat right, since I enjoy eating ANYTHING!

I sometimes will eat the fruits I like and home cooked food. I will also sometimes eat food from McDonalds, Checkers, Burger King, and Wendy.

I think we are all proned to eating anything that is the fastest to eat. Although home made food maybe better but I have to have my wendy's occasionally. I do love my fruits and veggies and I make sure I get a couple of servings per day.

fresh fruit, veggies, nuts & grains are a preference for me....oh yea and meat. 8)
when i cook, i like to stir fry to keep veggies kind of crunchy.
doing a balancing act with necessary exercise, eating fresh food and avoiding processed foods i believe would promote better health and weight.
i'm working on myself every day to try my best to take care of this temple of mine. i take vitamin supplement too because i'm hearing how even some natural foods are being depleted of some vitamins. maybe it's the soil...who knows?
anyway, too good health and slimmer bodies! :thumbsup: ha lol

I recently started eating alot of fruits..I love cherries and grapes..and i have a sald with alot of veggies everynight during dinner..I love them both.

It's so expensive to eat healthy, though! Buying fruits and veggies is hard because it costs so much, it can be hard to pick the fresh ones, they don't stay fresh long, and it takes time to prepare them (unless you ALWAYS eatraw foods). I wish there was a way to eat healthier that didn't cost an arm and a leg!!

i love almost all of them and eat them quit alot. but i still prefer a juciey burger.

our current lifestyle and stress levels do lead us to more convenience items (including fast food) and the marketting people have really "sold" this concept to us. Many people do not cook at home and some don't even know how to cook.
You can gain weight from anything you eat. Fruit/Veg included, but generally these offer much more benefits (obviously) than the junk food options for snacks.
we also don't get enough fiber and water.....

I like fruits and veggies too. But having fast food once in a while I don't think is necessarily a bad thing. People have to watch their portions too.

certainly -- all things can fit in moderation.
Alcohol has a lot of calories but people much more frequently assume it's other bad choices...... (not saying this is a problem for everyone, but in general we drink a lot of calories -- including soda, juices, sports drinks, etc)

I try to get my 5 a day. I usually make it. There is food everywhere to tempt us. The food companies want us to eat and eat and eat.

I love fruits and veggies, but I love being a carnivore too! Yum! PETA - People Eating Tasty Animals! I just have a hard time with people that are vegetarians because they don't like hurting poor animals. Veggies and fruits have feelings too! Don't they? I 've said my piece.

Now... i love my veggies and my fruit and will take them raw or cooked over alot of fast food places ANYDAY! but what i hate is people who see over weight people and think, gee that person doesnt eat their fruits and veggies or eat healthy now do they?! i know im overwight by 100 lbs but i eat more fruits and veg than meat and fast food. ill take salad or whatever is healthy over the greasy stuff.I think the fast food joints should start making more veggie burgers etc than the greasy crappy burgers they sell... at least they would be somewhat healthier than the ones they have

while i completely agree that produce and other healthy foods are expensive, i offset their cost by making other foods at home. my husband loves protein bars in his lunch but they can be anywhere from $1 to $2 a piece. so i make them at home and can usually make 2 dozen for about $4. so the $20 i just saved can go towards fruits and veggies. the other things i save money by making myself are granola bars, bread, pop-tarts, potato chips, and crackers. i save serious money by making them myself, and my homemade versions are always waaaay healthier than the store bought items.

I like fruits and vegetables but love meat also eat a home cooked meal 6 out of 7 days a week most weeks.

We quit eating out at any fast food restaurants and have chosen a healthy diet made up of lots of fruit, vegetables, fish, chicken and turkey. We feel much better because of it.

I agree with the making whatever you can at home and putting that money toward the more expensive yet vitally necessary fruits n veggies. I adopted that practice many years ago. I get at least 5-7 fruits n veggies in every day...raw/canned/frozen, however I can get them...and I'm on food stamps. the only way I get to eat out at this point is if I have a gift card I've earned online. I'm saying it's possible to make it happen, even in reduced circumstances.

who wouldn't prefer McDonalds over fruits and veggies. I would I know that. But I do love some fruits and veggies and if I ate McDonalds all the time I would get sick of it I am sure.

It is a shame that we opt to eat the most fattening stuff for our bodies. This year I have vowed to change my eating habits in order to lose weight I have gained over the years from pregnancy and just getting older. It is amazing the weight that comes off just making a few minor adjustments.
- change from white to wheat - wheat may have more calories but it gives you more energy, the sugars burn faster, and raises your metabolism which helps you to burn more fat.
eat more fruits and calcium products - every morning I start my day with a blender full of fruit smoothies, 1 cup of OJ or apple juice, 2 cups of your favorite fruit, 16 oz. plain non-fat yogurt, and I add 2 Tbl of wheat germ for fiber. You get your fruit servings for the day, your calcium intake and fiber all in one. And all of these great ingredients help raise your metabolism too.
Start a pilates program. I have a great beginners pilates tape which really helped me to kick off exercising this year. Pilates works on your core muscles (abs) which if strengthened helps to burn fat all over and improves your poster.

Fact: Kids who perform better in school have a sit-down meal with their family almost every evening.
It is mandatory in our house to sit down for meals together except for breakfast. It provides a time to really find out what is going on and a time to enjoy each others company.
Stop letting your kids run around from one activity to the next and yourselves and sit down with your family to eat. It is amazing what will happen.
