:cat:  We have a friend who was in a very serious accident yesterday, ejected over 60 ft., and has major swelling on the brain.  He is now in critical but stable condition.  We are going to go and at least sit with his wife, run errands for her, etc.  We also have a birthday party to go to for a little fellow turning 1 yrs. old.

Well...they are supposed to be letting my mom come home from the hospital tomorrow, so we'll be going to see her.  I also want to clean on my house some and have a peaceful dinner at home with my family.  We're thinking about hitting the local dollar store to see if we can find some decorations for Halloween.  I've never decorated before for the holiday, any holidays really, but with my little girl having just turned two...going to have to start making moves on collecting decorations!

And I definitely plan on watching Tony Curtis films this weekend.  Anyone else disappointed they didn't mention him in the entertainment part of PTC?

I hope your mom does well after coming home.

Decorating for holidays is a lot of fun, especially when your children are small.  You are setting traditions for them they will never forget and even continue on with their families.  My children (grown now, and have 2 small granddaughters) still come over and want to make sure "You are putting up decorations, right?"

Also, in response to your other post, I agree about Tony Curtis.  It's a shame we didn't even hear that much on the news either.

Thank you!  She has a strep infection in her blood stream (this is her second one) and it is quite scary.  They sent her home with a PICC line (kinda like an IV running from her elbow through her shoulder) and she gets antibiotics twice a day for the next two weeks.  Then they may release her to go back to work.  She needs this opportunity to relax and just take care of herself...although I would have preferred her taking a vacation instead.

We hit up the dollar tree today and our little girl was so excited over the spider rings and window clings and paper lanterns.  We're lucky to have a store like that where we live...including the pumpkin, we've got less than $15 invested in decorations for Halloween...so she also got herself a new long sleeve Halloween shirt today LOL.

I watched Some Like it Hot for the hundreth time last night, and it never ceases to amaze me just how darn pretty Tony Curtis was as a lady (at least in B&W).

Keep me posted about your mom.  We were able to see our friend who was involved in the car accident.  He's in ICU and looks better than he did yesterday but don't know what's going on with his brain yet (because of the hematoba.) His ribs are cracked and fractured and he's still on life support, but since yesterday, when he was breathing 4 breaths a minute on his own, today he is up to 25!  The doctors have said it will take several more days before we will know much more.

I am very happy for your daughter.  She'll have a great time!!  And, yes, Tony Curtis was a pretty lady!!!

Car accidents are so scary.  There are so many things that medicine cannot explain...call them miracles or dumb luck...all I can do is call myself grateful.  I'll keep you posted on my mom and you keep me posted on your friend.
