Does anyone know the best place online to sell college textbooks? I have about 20 of them that I would like to get rid of. Has anyone used eCampus.com? They seem like they were going to give me a reasonable price for the books I looked up, but I'm wondering if there is a catch. Thanks!!

Amazon.com has a textbook buyback feature, but I don't know how their prices are because I never tried them. I sold some of my textbooks to cash4books.net, but they didn't accept most of mine. Other than that I don't really know of many sites that buy back textbooks.

When I was in college I used half.com it's a subsidiary of ebay, good place to shop if you're looking to buy too!

That was a pet peeve of mine in college. The textbooks cost a fortune, but when you go to sell them, if you can find a place that will accept them, they don't want to pay much for them.

Rather than sell your books TO Amazon, you should sell them yourself through Amazon Marketplace. Just meet or beat the lowest listing price for a similar condition book and check back daily to update your prices.
The next best place is Half.com and after that is eBay. Amazon really is the best though.

i agree that amazon is the best. it seems like that's
the first place people go to find second-hand text
books, so your items are getting way more exposure.
i had some luck on ebay too - but for more general
ed books (math, english). my degree specific ones
sold quickly on amazon.
good luck!

eBay is a good one, but it takes a lot of work

I agree with the half.com proposition. that has always brought me the best prices for my used textbooks.

Thanks everyone!! I compared prices and amazon did seem to be the best. It gave me $80 back for one book and the rest of them totaled $70, so not bad if I do say so. Yeah, I really hate the drop in value as soon as you buy it. The next time I'm going to tell my husband to let me sell the books as soon as he was done with the class since they get revised and are outdated so quickly. But what I would like is for him to just get finished with his degree and we wouldn't have to buy them any more. I tease him because I finished my degree over a year ago. ;D
