What're your opinions on this subject?
I'm personally a PC fan, but I love the ipod touch and iphone.
-
I have had both expericences with apple and pc however I do prefer apple over pc. I use both for mutitasking things and apple just seems to be better. I also beleive have an apple no viruses either. That pc cannot dispute for as many times I have had to fix a pc I could have bought best apple ten times over. Hands down apple is the best and the products are only getting better.

More of a PC persona Apple is too complex and breakable
-
im more of a pc person because its easier to use, but i too love the ipod touch. i guess it really comes down to what you do and what makes your life easier. I personally think theyre both nice...I wish macs came in different colors tho then that would have been awesome =)

i think both are great. apple has a better system in my opinion, but security-wise....PC for sure.

PC for actual computer, but apple products. I love my itouch :)

I'm with Surveymack on this. Same general idea for me.

I have worked on a Mac for 14+ years and on a PC for about the same amount of time. The one HUGE difference I see is that it is really hard to get a weird virus or problem with a Mac, while very easy to get one on a pc. Another difference I see is that almost everything can be done on a PC (like filling out forms, signing up to websites and playing games) while it might not work on a Mac. (I personally love my G4 mac and adobe products!)

I'm Apple/Mac all the way.

Breakable? Mac's are notorious for long lasting. I guarantee once you learn your way around a Mac, your hooked!

Apple definitely has a better system with the highest security built in. They are seldom hacked into (too much security), and have updated security built into every update. While your buying your anti-virus protection every year, mine is already built into my Mac, and gets updated every time Apple sends me an update to my system, which costs me nothing.
The downside is my Mac will cost me approximately double to replace it, versus a Windows PC. You get what you pay for.

I am an illustrator, and just learned to do everything on a Mac. When I started illustrating, it was (gulp) 1994 and I had Illustrator 3. HA! Now I am on Illustrator CS3 and will be starting a new job on Monday using CS5! I can't believe it! My last job I just left INSISTED that I use only Corel 14 on a PC. Talk about learning all kinds of new things. (who is the WORLD uses Corel now-a-days! I had never even heard of it!)
-
I use a PC just based on what I do (I'm not a designer or producer etc that Apple's are wonderful for).
One thing to note on those who say Macs are "more secure"...I would not go that far. The reason you hear about less infections on Macs or Linux is that they have a much smaller market share than Microsoft.
The people who are developing the worms, viruses, etc are going to target the platform that the most can be infected on, which would be Windows.
I woul bet that if Macs overtook a big majority of the marketshare you would start seeing the same problems on Mac that you see now with Windows.
Just my 2 cents..

I friend of mine use to be a Systems Analyst with Apple, and he says the security is built into the Macs applications and gets updated periodically with updates. I've never worried about viruses with my Mac. Doesn't mean some "hacker" couldn't get around any security in place if they wanted to "target" someone.
I have also wondered if viruses aren't created to keep you buying anti-virus software all the time. Just a thought. Also, viruses that are passed from one PC to another via the web, would surely hit a Mac somewhere. However, a Mac won't pick it up like a Windows based PC.
Anytime your watching a movie, and they're using a computer, check to see what system is being represented. You might be surprised. It's a Mac....9 times out of 10.

You are soooo right! I guess thats why I feel they are a bit safer, but harder to get things done on sometimes!

Kind of like the 80 column punch card, RPGII, Cobol, Fortran, and "C" programming languages. Not used anymore. Things change so fast tech wise, you can't keep up. My friend is using Cold Fusion to do some designing on my web site. He loves it. I know nothing anymore. I used to program back in the day with RPGII and Cobol, when mainframes inhabited whole floors of a building. I better shut up. I'm dating myself.

Good luck on your new job. I'm glad someone is finding work in this economy. You'll do great!

i like my pc

Thanks guys for all your input!!!

It is a matter of preference. I prefer PC's.
-
Is Apple as tempermental as the PC. I want to know if Apple computers crash or contact viruses as much. I love Apple because the computers run smooth for me without to much fuss.
-
Apples will "crash", and they can be hacked into, but not as easy as a PC. As far as virus's? I've never had one yet with my Mac's. Always had them when I had Window's based PC's years ago. Apple products will also cost you quite a bit more.

PC its easy to use

No argument there. Mac's have a learning curve for sure. However, after I got acclimated with my Mac, I'll never want another PC in my life.

PC (windows 7)
-
Mac,
And then run bootcamp on it and run windows for when you need it.
No reason for a PC, since most applications have been ported over to Mac now-a-days anyways.

I try to stay away from Windows based applications. While you can run them on a Mac, there are glitches to do so. They are compatible to a point. Most of the similar software can be gotten through Apple anyway so it's hardly worth running both. However, I know some who do.....I just don't myself.
