I want to loose about 40 pounds I have tried so many diets and I also exercise. What I am doing wrong?

maybe you are not eating enough?
do you eat lots of fiber?
how much exercise?

eat lots of fruits and vegies no cheese cakes

A couple of my friends at work has really done well with carbs. I'm planning on trying that next, after I learn more about that kind of diet. I've always been a calorie counter.

Change your eating habits. Look at the foods you are eating. Do you eat a lot of processed foods. Try to eat less processed foods, cut out sugar, don't eat too much salt, eat more fruits and veggies. Eat a few small meals a day. Avoid fast food.

I am sorry, but as long as you have the mindset of "diet" you are going to struggle.
If you want to lose weight, you need to change how you look at it. It really is a lifestyle change. I lost about 50 pounds 6-7 years ago. With the exception of when I was pregnant (5 years ago), I have maintained my weight.
Exercise
Watch calorie intake
It really IS just as simple as eating less calories than you burn. For example, a pound of fat is 3500 calories. To lose a pound a week you would need to have 500 calories less a day.

My aunt lost a lot of weight by cutting out snacks completely, and taking the dog for a run every day.

If you try cocaine you will def lose 40 pounds. And your tv and your car.

I don't diet. I just stop making candy,cookies, pies,cake, and fried potatoes. Lots of fruit and veg.; make sure you remove fat from meat before cooking it. Also, walk to the store instead of driving. Good luck!

Except for the cocaine (ha ha) all comments are good advice... another thing you might try is drinking water regularly and no soda, not even diet. Also try not to eat a couple of hours before going bed. My friend who is a personal trainer recommends this to his clients.
