Is it jus me or does it seem like all women's Halloween costumes look like stripper clothing. How do parents feel when they have a daughter between the ages of 10-18 wearing costumes like that?
-
They really do. I went to college in San Diego and every Halloween, it was another excuse for girls to go out in their underwear outside....literally. It was gross and I always wondered how their parents felt about that.

Yea it's the one day where girls can dress like whores and it's ok.

My brother works at a costume shop, and he says a very large number of customers are strippers. Supply and demand, I guess. Unfortunately it filters down to the kiddie costumes.

I'm 24 and I feel the same way. Costumes used to be fun and creative and now they're just another way to look skanky. It's embarrassing. I don't see any young girls who were dresses inappropriately this year, but most of the adult girls need to re evaluate themselves!

I hate it personally, it only brings attention to the kids in the wrong way. I have 3 little girls and this issue annoys me.
When I look for bathing suits for my 3 year old twins I could only find bikinis and they revealed a lot. I wouldn't mind a two peice if it covered everything it should cover.
But of course one pieces are much more of my taste for my babies.
Now costume hunting...it's not just costumes for 10 year olds, I found skimpy toddler ones I found a cheer leader one that screamed stripper on it.
It's disgusting... >_<

i had to go with the classics Minnie Mouse for the twins and Snow white for the baby...
As far as teens and adults wearing skimpy costumes...95% of the girls I knew were wearing skimpy cop outfits, nurse outfits, school girl, even a skimpy tony the tiger and Freddy Krugar...
It's how they want to look I guess it's okay as long as they are happy...

I won a Halloween contest this year for wearing some rather sexylooking costume. I had on a mini-skirt that road low on my hips and only went down mid-thigh (my white thong was visible in back, it was so low). Then a backless halter-top with ties around my neck and waist. A long-blonde wig and some sandles completed my costume. Everyone thought it was great, and as soon as I showed up, there was a major buzz about me being fan-favorite.
(On second thought, I probably won not because I looked so sexy, but rather being :male: I decided not to shave (except my face) so the hairy chest and legs, not to mention the surprise of my sporting a male-thong underneath made the whole get-up disturbingly hilarious :sad1: ;D )

Yeah, that is really bothersome to me, but what bothers me the most is the hypersexualized costumes of what are supposed to be children.
Alice in Wonderland? Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz? The Little Red Riding Hood? These are little girls and I am so sick of seeing slutty costumes of them. So sick of it.

Halloween night I went to WalMart to get some last minute party stuff and there was a girl in a referee? (sorry spelling) costume. It was a striped bra with a tiny skirt that must have been like 4 inches all around. I saw butt cheek. WHO WOULD DO THAT... oh, she did.

Yeah pretty much any character costume has a shortened skirt and a lower cut top. The funny costumes are usally fine. Like banana suits but they are just annoying to walk around in.

When I was little I don't remember stripper costumes or anything like that. I remember I went as Ragedy Anne, pink power ranger, a witch and Megara from Hercules. I went as a scare crow one year that my mom's friend put together at the last minute. Wear overalls and put some of that straw stuffing in there (I don't know what it's called but it's not actually straw and you get it at a craft store), a hat and use some black lipstick or something like that to draw some stitching on your face.
