Does anyone realy truely belong to just one party anymore? I mean almost everyone I talk to says that party doesn't matter to them but they vote for a candidate because of their views and promises that have been made in a campeign add. I understand that party matters for house and senat majority but how many commen people even know what the diefference is between the two parties? Don't blame just republicans or non-voters because the election didn't satisfy you.  :peace:

I'm surprised you didn't break out the race card as well, I mean your post looked like it had so much potential! You really dropped the ball on that one.
You ramped up really well, and the typing in all caps really shows how upset you are, nice job with that, you really convinced the reader to take look thoughtfully at your point. You got the blame Bush thing down well, but next time to really get it done, throw in a "racist" or "bigot" or something along those lines, it'll really get your point across.

The woods comment had me wondering, I mean since 2008, since your chosen one got in office with all of his wallstreet friends that he placed in his cabinet (by the way, they're the ones who really screwed us) are you implying that we're going to living in the woods or are we going to be making log cabins. We really need to know! Do I go out and start buying up lumber to build it? I mean dark ages, I guess we're all going to lose such things like indoor plumbing, I hope you have a good water treatment plan, could you clue me in on that? You seem to be such a pinacle of intelligence and well thoughtout posts you probably have the ability of telling me what I'm supposed to do.

Oh I have so many questions! Should I start getting more ammunition for my guns or do I turn them over to the local authorities? They seem to have my best interest in mind, with their relentless tazering of old people and unconstitutional speed traps, I'm sure they must know what's going on. Please help!

All kidding aside, you're an absolute idiot if you think we're going to the dark ages over a congressional election. 2006 and 2008 the same damn thing happened and we're still here. Are you worried that unemployment benefits won't be extended yet again past their 99 weeks they already are? Are you worried that the idiots in the cabinet, which all worked on wallstreet before being in the cabinet in the first place are going to take more money away from you?
Oh and one last thing... I don't want any damn help from my government, I actually want them less involved with my personal life and liberties. I want them as far as freaking away from me and my family as damn possible. I don't want their handouts, I'd rather; I know this may come as a shocking realization, EARN what I have as opposed to it being taken from someone else to be given to me.

You can't steal from Peter to pay Paul. That's exactly what's going on. Your post shows you have very little econmic intelligence nor actual knowledge of how the politcal world actually works. Keep listening to your media outlets telling you what you're supposed to believe and that government is the end all be all solution of life. Lemmings all jump from the ledge one day.

The Democrats have been IN CONTROL since 2006 and yet they haven't done a damn thing execpt spend spend spend our unborn grandchildrens lives away. If government was such a great thing, riddle me this; why is the USPS in shambles? Why is Amtrak bankrupt? Why do public sector unions have nonbinding agreements in states that employee multiple people? Can you answer any of these or are you just going to goto a good one and call me a racist and think you like many of your brode and "I won the argument". Use some fact's next time as opposed to whatever some douche at MSNBC told you.

I think that people expected Obama to immediately solve all of our problems.  We're going to need at least a whole decade to fix most of the problems that happened during the previous administrations.  It's sad that his own party turned against him so fast.  That really says a lot about the people who voted for Obama, gave him 2 years, then turned against him, not even acknowledging the good things he has done so far.  I don't understand how a member of a specific party can switch sides in the blink of an eye.

I think they should do away with the political parties. That way people actually have to look and see what a candidate stands for and their views. I think it's just stupid that people vote based solely on a party obligation. I also think that it was the non-voters that turned the tables in this election. When Obama was running for President, you had all these people coming out of the woodwork to vote for him. They voted for him and all his democratic counterparts. Now that the presidency in not in jeopardy, these people didn't come out to vote. I think this is why there is such a sway in the mid-term voting.

It was the independents that got him elected just as it was the independents that voted for R last night.

Youth vote was at 8% last night compared to the 28% of the election. Simple things like that are what determine elections.

Oh and how moderate democrats don't like the policies that he's enacted. That hurts too.

Don't mind tantricia~ being attacked by a terrier is a traumatic thing. And if the terrier was a republican  :o ...well that's tantamount to having your house rammed into by a plane taken over by extremists! Poor thing probably has post traumatic stress disorder. If you were attacked by a republican terrier wouldn't you be upset too?

Okay, back to building my log cabin in my little town of Dark Ages.  ;D

I wouldn't fret too much... Republicans only took control of the house; the Democrats are still in control of both the Senate as well as the Presidency. Thus the "good things" Obama has rammed down our throat enacted will probably never get repealed. Obama can continue to go with his agenda. And heck most of the stuff he already enacted aren't slated to affect the country until a few years down the road. (Oh and BTW, I don't plan on getting my SS, no matter who's in office... I'm too young now and it'll be all gone by the time I retire.)

I'm so glad the Fed is on our side... In a few short hours, they are thinking of pumping some money into the economy to monetize the debit... Too bad the Republicans didn't win both houses... Then when the inflation hits (that this little scheme will cause) and gas prices start increasing, Obama won't be able to put the blame on the "enemies" (ie the Republicans) and the "evil" oil companies.  ::)

Just because they plan on magically creating 500 billion to a trillion dollars out of no where doesn't mean it won't cause inflation. Well, according to Bernake and Geitner and the rest of the wallstreet cronies cabinet members that control our fiat currency.

Belittle?????

The original poster insulted people who didn't vote and everyone who voted republican!! She said she wasn't proud to be an American simply because an election race went the opposite of what she wanted and she called all Americans stupid.

Yet you chastise someone for being able to:
1. Post without using all caps in an entire post.
2. Use intelligent and thought out statements supporting their opinion.
3. Not using juvenile whiny insults in their response.

If you're so ashamed to be an American, then leave the country.  Afghanistan is really nice right now.  I don't always agree with everything that happens here, but I would never say I'm ashamed of America.  There is nowhere in the world that compares.

Actually no, I'm not a Republican. I'd call myself a libetarian if I had to pick an actual political party. If you had taken any time to read any of my previous posts you'd actually realize that. I've been as critical of Cantor, Boehner, and Bush as I have been of Pelosi, Reid, and Obama.

As far as belittling? Obviously you've studied zero of macro economics or realized that funny money created out of thin air by the federal reserve for "stimulus" is a bad thing. My post had more to do with being critical of someone who thinks everyone should vote "her way" as it did with anything else, we're not a democracy we're a republic, and the quicker you realize such things the more you're going to realize that being hypercritical is actually a good thing. You'll realize that questioning our government leaders is what makes this country great. Having that ability to do so means that I can actually change things with the ability "vote with my feet".

If you can't understand simple economic terms, ideas, and theroies then theres not a whole lot I can do for you.

Again, belittle? You haven't read anything or have the ability of understanding that people do have differing opinons. I called the OP out because it was full of nothing but total partisan hack I only watch MSNBC Keith Olbermann and love the president even though he's done absolute squat as far as accomplishments of real premise. And if you quote Health Care; either A: you didn't have it to begin with or B: you think everyone is entitled to everything in a welfare only state. If this bill was such a good thing, why have I received multiple letters from my provider and now saying it's going to be going up 2500 a year. Theres going to hopefully be a huge shake up within congress and this bill will be replaced with things that actually help the consumer as opposed to the health insurance providers.

Earth to everyone!!!  The Democrats took control of the senate and the house in 2008 and took office of the president in 2009. However, I tend not to agree with anything, why?  Because of this nonsense!  I don't care what people think but if you think the government is going to give handouts then--ha ha for you!!!  Try looking at someone who has a chronic or serious illness or life-threatening illness and see what kind of hand-outs they've gotten--next to none or better yet zilch!!!  I don't care what party is in control, it comes down to the same old thing, you better not lose your job or you better not get sick!   If you do I hope you have family, friends or a support group of some sort because as far as creditors are concerned all you are is a name and telephone number.  They don't care if you are democratic, republican, liberal, black, white, hispanic, asian, biracial, catholic, baptist, protestant, jewish, muslim, man, women, small business owner, self-employed, unemployed, disabled, homeless, dead, have legal representation or visa versa.  In addition to family and friends, most of the help I've gotten was either from a private hospital to cover some cost as a breast cancer patient or various support groups that know of resources available for cancer survivors.  This is because lots of organizations and individuals donate lots of dollars to these programs.  It does not come from the government!  Applying for State insurance is a joke if you're a penny over a certain income bracket it is going to take a while to get anything!  Expecting a government hand-out PLEASE!  You might as well go begging in the street!   And come on!  You know what that person meant--terrorist not terrier.  Don't knock that person either--because I've come across lots of misspelling so who are you to judge--just saying!!!

Obama doesn't possess magical powers to fix all of America's problems in 2 years.  After this election, I quit voting.  I am tired of the drama and feel it's useless.  The parties and the powers at be who own them will do what they want to anyways.

You obviously don't know what it means to be American. Americans don't need handouts, we work for a living and pay our own way. We don't want to give up all our freedom to a government in exchange for their "help." If everyone was on the take like you obviously are, who would pay the taxes for the government to give away everything for free? The Constitution clearly enumerates the powers of the Federal government, and it sure doesn't mention anything about being a welfare agency. People who live on government handouts are stealing money from those of us who work and get our hard earned money taken away by taxes to support lazy losers. I'd rather live in the woods as a free person, than live in some mansion as a slave to the government.

All I can say is WOW!

I do not claim to be affliated with any particular political party and right now I have never been more proud of that or the fact that I am AMERICAN and PROUD to live in a place with such freedoms.

If you think about it you should be too, since if you were pretty much anywhere else, you would be in prison or worse right now. Gotta love freedom of speech. Maybe you should check out some of the other countries limits on free speech before you make a comment about not being a proud American...

Out of curiosity I googled "how many countries think americans are stupid"  You maybe be surprised at the results.   But like anything else, it's a matter of opinion.   I'm proud to be an American regardless of election results or whatever people think.  And someone really "hit the nail on the head" when they said that in another country this person could have been jailed or murdered for what they said because such a thing as "Freedom of Speech" doesn't exist.

LOL ahhh...this was good for a morning laugh. I agree that having political parties is moot in this day and age. So many people have a mix of beliefs from both sides of the fence. And what the hell happened?? We became a society ruled by it's "upper class." The big and rich are the ones with power and we're stuck yet again following their decisions instead of being allowed to have a say on Capital Hill. I don't know about you guys, but that 67 year old man with two ex-wives, a stake in several big companies, and a vacation house in the Hamptons doesn't have a clue about what I want! We need some real grass roots candidates in office, not some guy in an expensive suit who has "beer summits" in front of cameras for publicity and old men who have been squatting in their seat since FDR was president....

I'm very proud to be an American and blessed to be living in the land of the free and the home of the brave. We enjoy our freedoms today because somebody paid the price for that freedom.  This week I'm reminded of the sacrifice our military personnel have sacrificed for that freedom.

I married a Navy man, who was the son of a Navy man, My Dad and Uncle were Army, and my son was Air Force for 10 years.  My Dad and Uncle are buried on military grounds with full honors.  This Veteran's Day I remember their sacrifice and duty for our country.

However we vote or don't vote is personal to each individual.  You may not like how I vote or I may not like how you vote.  However, we can agree that this is still a free country, and a great country, and we all love her.

Most Elections are VERY slim.  I voted for Obama.  I was promised change. He ran under the guise that he would bring our troops home, work with Republicans to compromise and provide health care to more Americans. Well, he didn't.  Like I said, most margins in an election are razor thin.  He pissed off a few people all over and this happened.  It's not like EVERYONE became Republican.  More like it was 49 percent, now it's 52 percent.

I know you are just joking and you are doing a great job.  You have gotten a lot of responses to your remarks.  I only have a few recommendations for you:

1.  Leave the United States immediately, assuming you are even an American.

2.  Less government is good.  The only thing the government does well is maintaining its military.  And to that end, I am extremely proud of my country.

3.  Nothing is free.  We must stop handing out entitlements to people who choose not to work.  They are non-productive citizens!  I am not talking about disabled people here.

4.  I do agree with you about people who did not vote.  People who do not vote are not using their freedom to make this country great once again.

5.  The President must start leading!!!  He has not proven to me yet that he has that ability.  He seems to be a good manager, but that's not what we need in a President.

6.  Get over the past election.  Get on board and start doing something instead of spouting off with words.  Actions are what we need now.   :notworthy:

That said, it's of my opinion that since the election did not go the way she wanted it to, that the Republicans, Independents, and non-voters are at fault.  When in actuality, it's pretty obvious, to me, that the people that did vote and had the majority, sent a message to Obama and Pelosi that enough is enough. I, for one, am pleased to see how the election turned out. That's just my opinion.

Color?  The Republicans I know aren't concerned about color.  They are concerned about our country and where it is headed, including government control, Healthcare Reform, jobs and the economy, Muslim groups that are trying to insert Sharia Law into our borders, Social Security, Welfare programs, etc.  There are Republicans, Democrats, Independents, etc., that are putting our country's needs first as opposed to others from the same parties that are wanting to tear our country down and instead line their own pockets with excess monies that our country and its normal citizens need.

I'm 24yrs old and still not a registered voter. I don't wanna feel responsible for electing a fool as our president or anything else. Of course, I expect the person to make mistakes. I just wish Obama and whoever else would quit spending so much money. Anyways, Im happy with my decision to not be a registered voter :)

You have a chance to make sure Obama quits spending by voting him out.   You cannot complain about how our country is headed if you don't take the time vote.  That is what America is all about.

I voted republican because I don't think its fair for me and my family to have to pay for others who do not or will not work. I understand some people can't, but there are too many people in this country who abuse the welfare system and the new health care system will be the same way. Call me selfish, I don't care, but I want to live in America, not a socialist society. I feel like you should get what you work for, and the rate the Democrats were going, my taxes were going to be higher than what I got to keep.

I don't want help from the government, I think they try to abuse their authority too much as it is.

As for the global warming debate, I have done lots of research on it for classes in college and there are definitely discrepencies on both sides of the arguement. Yes the climate is changing, but if you really study how all of the testing and research for it is done, you will see how greatly the discussion is dostorted for political purposes.

And overall, I am just glad that people voted based on actual issues and not just for the sake of a "black president". There is too much reverse racism in this country starting with affirmative action and the like. Do not even get me started on that debate. And I am sure I will get tons of angry remarks about me being racist, but no I am just calling it like I see it. Look at the facts, many many voters had no idea of the issues Obama supported or even had personal opinions in conflict with his beliefs. I am not saying Republicans or Democrats are worse than the other, but Americans need to think about the decisions they are making before voting just for the sake of voting. Get educated on the issues and maybe this country won't continue to go downhill!

BRING ON THE CRITICISM  ;D

I agree with you that people are entitled to their opinions.  I believe also, that when tantricia exploded the way she did, she knew she was going to get a lot of reactions and responses.  It seems to me that you are implying that it's okay for her to use the Freedom of Speech, however, those people you are getting on to for ranting on two or three pages have the privilege of the Freedom of Speech as well.

Whats the point in voting when we don't know if the next person will be any better? The person usually promise to do this and do that. Then, we find out that its all just a big lie. Of course, I can't run the country any better and I wouldn't dare to take Obama's place LOL.

  TERRIER ATTACKS,

No I think were called stupid Americans, because were worried about "TERRIER attacks", when anyone with common since knows we need to be worried about the poodle attacks.

Lol! I agree that it's messed up that most of the country voted Republican but "Terrier attacks" is hillarious. I think you were so angry that you didn't realize what you wrote. I know you meant to say Terrorist attacks.
