I am laid off and money for Christmas gifts will be sparse.
I'm using my leftover yarns to make crocheted throw rugs, hats and scarves. I'm making homemade hard tack candy and will make cookies and give plates of candy and cookies away.
If you have any ideas of things to make or buy that are really cheap I'd be interested in hearing what they are.

I only buy store brand items in the store, so I spend like $30/week for groceries for my girlfriend and I. That's pretty good and the extra money can toward other expenses.

lol - I learned to crochet from my grandmother too and I love that I learned that! But that is a way awesome idea - make it home made! There are a lot of homemade products groups on facebook to check out to help you there!
As for me, we are a budget shopping family, we've always had to be. So our usual is places like Walmart and Dollar Tree. However, I have earned a bit online, so I'm going to utilize what I have earned too - that's the way to do it!

no gifts this year :( just traveling across the country and spending time with family :)

I am working up my balance with FusionCash and using what I earn when I receive my cashout to buy Christmas for my son!

I buy some of my gifts at bargain prices throughout the year. I also save some of the gift cards that I earn from my points at a number of websites. My Fusion Cash checks also help somewhat. Before Christmas, I'll be having a garage sale.

I will search for Christmas gifts on different websites for best deals. Last year I bought some awesome gifts with a good bargain on ebay. I won't skip any gifts for my family and friends. I love to see their smiles and to have a cheerful holiday season.

I've been buying things at Sams Club in bulk like toilet tissue and other goods to save money. I also have been using coupons and buying more store brands to save money.

I have earned a bit of cash and gift cards online at places like FusionCash (which I love!). I am also crocheting some Christmas gifts (did last year, also). That reminds me - I think I'll see about starting a new topic for crocheters.....

Good for you! I thing hand made gifts are very personable and love them. I would rather have a plate of home made cookies than any food item that is bought. Why buy a hat or scarf if a loved one will make you one as a gift. Best of luck on your job situation and I hope your family and friends love their gifts!!

I've already started purchasing and making gifts for next Christmas. I love these after Christmas sales!
