Title: Mens rights for there children and money
Post by: dwiley11 on November 13, 2010, 12:02:09 am
I'm Divorced and was in the right because of her infidelity but I'm getting screwed,  I will never again vote unless I know the person will repeal all the crappy laws and men hating rules that the friend of the court puts in place to keep men "Basically" in jail until there child is 18.  I've been divorced for 11 years and aready have given her everything I think its time for a movie of the week on how ex-wives can keep ex-husbands in bondage for 18 years

HERE IT IS...A WOMAN AGREEING with you!  Yes, it does appear that men get the short end of the stick EVEN when the woman is at fault.  Don't give up.  Keep fighting for your rights and eventually, things may change.

Dads are great people, too.  Always be involved in your children's lives even though you feel enslaved by your ex.

If you are talking about the child support laws, then I say the laws are just fine the way they are.  When I was a small child, my parents divorced and my dad got custody of me and my older sister.  My mom was required to pay child support.  So it's not a "man-hating" law.

Unless you are talking about some other type of law, and if you are it may not be a law in all states.  I don't have any details on your situation, so I can't say either way.

Sometimes the decisions that judges make are startling.  I had a friend who's ex was abusing drugs and had lost his license for DUI.  My friend wanted to limit visitation to supervised and the judge said that there was no reason to do that, that the father just needed to have any licensed driver pick up the child for his visitation.  That meant that ANY stranger with a license can go to my friend's house and pick up her 8 year old simply by saying, your ex sent me to pick up the kid.  It could be a junkie or criminal.  Just as long as they have a license and there is absolutely nothing she can do about it, she has to let her little boy go with them.

I don't think it is so much that the laws need to change, but we need a way to get rid of horrible judges.

I have seen a lot of issues with men getting the crap end of the deal also. Two guys I used to work with both got divorced and had joint custody with their ex-wives, but both of the guys had physical custody of the kids. Meaning the kids lived with them. The one guy had been divorced for about 6 years and his ex-wife decided to take him to court for back pay for child support even though he had the child and paid for everything for him. So now on top of having to pay for everything for the child for 6 years, he also has to pay money to the wife which totaled around $26,000. He had records that the child was with him and in school where he lived in everything. Now why would the judge make him pay? The other guy was recently divorced and even though the child would be living with him, they still made him pay child support to the ex-wife.....where is the sense in that? Isn't that what alimony is for? Child support is to support the child, not to support the mother's drug habit. Sometimes the system works, but sometimes you just have judges who I have no idea what they are thinking.

I totally agree with you. The law is great to protect the children and women initially but some judges don't do great job! They should be like Judge Judy. Heehee
