Title: Favorite holiday pie?
Post by: texaswhiterose on November 24, 2010, 07:59:45 pm: What is your favorite pie to bake for the holidays? I just put two Chess pies in the oven. Have already made pumpkin. The Chess pie is my favorite though.

Post by: klkwid on November 25, 2010, 06:27:38 am: I think I like pumpkin the most for the holidays, but I REALLY love apple pie :) I made a pumpkin pie once that called for melted vanilla ice cream instead of something else-I wish I could find that recipe. It was to die for!!!

Even though I love apple and rhubarb pies, I don't think of them as holiday pies.

Probably pecan pie is my favorite holiday pie, with brown sugar pie as a close second. A friend of mine introduced me to brown sugar pie - it tastes a bit like pecan pie, just without the pecans. May be a good alternate for people who have nut allergies.
