I am a member at the Ridgewood YMCA in NJ and a participant of the Living Strong Living Well program for cancer survivors. I would like to share this participant's story who happens to be a pancreatic cancer survivor.

@andzigallery - That's AMAZING! CONGRATS!

It's always a glorious day when anyone beats this dreadful disease. My wife is a breast cancer survivor of 6 years now and we are both grateful for the advances being made.

Ditto! I am also grateful that there are so many of these programs like Living Strong Living Well being offered nationwide. In addition, I've just found out about the many financial resources available for cancer treatments, co-payments, follow-ups, mammograms, transportation, counseling, and childcare provided as charity care in most hospitals, cancercare.org and patientsadvocate.org. I am currently a two-year breast cancer survivor and my last mammogram still shows that I am cancer free. Since being involved with LSLW and other support groups, I have come across several lung cancer survivors but it is very inspirational to come across a pancreatic cancer survivor who is doing extremely well.

That was such an inspirational story. What a great lady. I admire her strenght, dedication and her will to fight cancer and beat it. I knew of a man who had pancreatic cancer but lost the fight after nine months of fighting it. I remember how he never wanted to give up even towards the end. We all should be grateful for what we have and live each day to the fullest.
