I just bought a product from a door-to door salesman and I wonder how many people here have ever had the same experience?

I have about three years ago I bought a Kirby vacuum cleaner. I love it. I wish I wouldn't have bought it though. It cost me way more than it's worth because the local business that sold it to me financed it and then sold the contract to another finance company who in turned increased the finance rate my payments went up to more than I could afford in a month and so did the interest. Be careful when you do this make sure and read everything. I also bought some steak and seafood once. They brought in the box to show what was in it and show how it was packaged. I asked to have an unopened box and they brought one in and left. I opened the box to put away the food and what I purchased wasn't in the box and the meat was spoiled. It smelt terrible. I drove around til I found the guys I bought it from and they refused to exchange it saying that I could of changed the items in the box with some I previously purchased and that I could of taken some stuff out and hid it. I got really mad and asked for a number to call that of which they refused to give me. Be aware of all sorts of scams is all I can say.

Never been visited by a door to door salesman.

We have them all the time especially because we live in a new subdivision. I have decided not to open the door. This way I can not be subject to buying anything and they do not have to waist their time. It is a win win for everyone. (Especially my husband :o!!)

We have in the past but don't see many where we are now. The stupidest one was when we were first married and bought encyclopedias. They weren't stupid but we didn't have our son until 3 years later and we moved those books 7 times before he used them :)

I haven't either, the only people who come to the door around here are recruiting for their church. They don't have anything I want to buy.

I bought a cook book from a college kid that was driving door to door 30 years ago, It is my favorite book and I go to it often it has how to make all kids of things and the recipes all ways come out like the should, the name of the book is The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Ameriscan Cooking. It cost 28 dollars that long a go and it is great.

No I have not. I would be to afraid to open my door. you have to be careful these days

I never open the door when I see a sales person, I really don't have the money.

I was a door to door saleswoman for a short time - many years ago. I tried selling Avon but I never made anything because I bought more product than I sold. I have also bought from door to door salesmen - also many years ago. I would not open the door now to anyone I cannot identify, especially since I live in a rural area. Also, most items sold that way cost much more than they are worth.

I've never encountered a door-to-door salesman. Isn't that a dangerous job though? I mean you go around to strange peoples' houses, trying to sell them stuff. What if a convicted felon opens the door?

I personally don't shop from any door to door seller. I barely get any but when they do show I don't ope the door. There are too many risks these days. Before you know it, you've spent alot of money on a product that falls apart and the seller is no where to be found. You're out of the product as well as the money. Too risky for me, especially in this economy.

Never!! Only thing I will buy at the door is if a cute little kid is selling cookies or candy or something. I would never buy anything expensive.
-
ive never bought anything from them as i normally dont open the door to them or if i do open it before seeing who it is i tell them im not interested and shut the door in their face! :D
-
I have a family business and people are always coming into sell stuff...i would usually but candles and knives lol...they all worked great!!!
-
the only door to door we have had is the high school kids with the team cards, and yes we supported them each time...and i don't even use the cards! LOL
-
I have never purchased anything from a door to door salesman. I always think its not easy to return the item if the product doesn't work properly.
-
I have never bought anything door-to-door. I only buy from stores, because I honestly don't trust some random person off the street.
-
Never have. You've got to watch out because some are scams.
-
no, but i have sold many tickets for my air force junior rotc fundraisers

;D I also bought a Kirby Vaccum from a door-to-door salesman. I really enjoyed it an well got my moneys worth. I just this last year replaced it with another vaccum and had purchased the Kirby back in 1989. I haven't purchased any food though. After reading about someone else's experience with that I am glad that I didn't. That is a piece of info well appreciated! THANKS!!!!

their actually really brave to go door to door like that in these times of days lol , but at times its kinda of annyoing espically when you strictly told them that you dont want the product but the next day they come and ring your doorbell lol

I did.. my brother use to be one of them. He's a good saleman though. A chocolate bar from school. I need to know what it is before I purchase it.

i once let a kirby guy in. dont make that mistake. cause they will take what they vacumed and pour it back out all over your floor plus the trash they bought in with them when you wont cave into them after 45 min and ask them to leave.
