Now the People who had no use for the ways of God the Most High and hated those who worshiped him. there is no place where their souls can go for rest; they must wander around forever in torment, grief and sorrow.
Their torment will progress in seven stages: stage 1: they ignore the Law of God 2. They can no longer make a since repentance and obtain life. 3. they see the reward stored up for those who put their faith in the covenant of God Most Hight 4. they think about the torment that has been storted up for them in the last days 5. they see angels guading the homes of other souls in complete silence.6 . they recognize that they must soon be tormented 7. worst of all when they see the glory of God Most Hight , they are sick with remorse and shame , they cringe in fear , because while they were living they sinned against him, and now they are about to come before him to be judged on the last day.

After reading the Bible for a long year,I know that all the people that never had the chance to know God they will go straight to hell and be punish.
-
Hmm ... how could a just God punish someone for such a thing. Some people have died not knowing anything about Jesus Christ or His atonement. God, in his infinite wisdom and mercy can't think of a way to give ALL of his children a chance to accept his gospel? I don't believe in such unjust God who could condemn someone in ignorance. It's just not possible. ALL will have a chance in this life or the next.
-
God does not have any preferences or judgements against his/her children. We are all spiritual beings having a human experience. We all are but one drop of an ocean. When we have our physical death, the drop returns to the ocean, to the source of which the drop came from in the first place.
-
Well that is certainly one interpretation.
I believe in a personal God, who knows us all by name, who knows our thoughts, fears, joys, strengths, and weaknesses. I believe we are His offspring, as stated in Acts 17:28 (KJV). God's love for each of His individual children is endless and unquestionable. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
So yes, I believe God does have a preference for us one way or the other. He wants us to be happy, and to live with him.

Whatever journey someone takes in the after-life is one that is obviously not seen by anyone else, so no one can really say "hey your going to heaven, your going to hell!", no matter what they or you believe in!!!
Heaven and hell are not tangible objects. Just because you've read a story about some man's journey to greatness and sacrifice doesn't mean the same fate is attainable by you!! If God is not physically standing there at your door, passing out brochures for Great vacation spots in
Heaven and Hell, then why believe it!
To my knowledge, no one I know has ever taken a "physical trip" to hell or heaven and compaired time share preferences for the next vacation they take!
"Oh, its way too hot down in Hell, horrible place! Ill never vacation there again!!! Way too many pitchforks, man! I better read my bible and believe in god so I can go to Heaven! Yeah, I would rather go there next season- Such a nice tourist spot, always sunny and soft clouds!!!!
Now your "PHYSICAL REMAINS"??? YES! You can predict where they will end up when your dead...because you see it!!! In the ground, cremated, donated to science, put in a tomb, whatever!
I know certain things exsist in this world, because they are right in front of me. I can touch them, move them around, manipulate them, study them, visit them, become inspired by them, ect. Get me scientific proof. There's the kicker for me! Otherwise, talking about where you end up because you dont believe in God is a waste of time to me!
soo yeahh good luck with that!

Lol, you have a point I guess, but I don't think it is as simple as you say. I don't think Heaven and Hell are physical places, but rather states of existence. For example, someone who does bad things their entire life, without trying to change and knowing full well that they are doing terrible things, will go to "Hell". Now is it hell because it is a burning hot lake of lava, or is it hell because he knows that he/she just blew their one and only chance to prove their loyalty to righteousness and God? I think the latter is more likely. Heaven and hell are still in the same universe, but those who blow their chance here on earth will live for eternity knowing they failed, and knowing they don't have another chance, that their progression is literally stopped. That sounds like more of a hell to me than any lava pit.
And heaven is the opposite.
This is my opinion, by the way. I'm not saying I have some signed document from God or the Bible society, so before all the criticism starts, remember that I'm just stating my ideas, not claiming to know all things the universe contains.

If athiests have lived compassionate, loving, generous lives, they will become part of the sunlight of the spirit. If they have lived this sort of life, they have been connected with a power greater than themselves, even though they never realized it.

:confused1: Errrrrr.....
It's times like these that I pat myself on the back for not having the narrow mindedness of these absolutely sick, twisted, and ridiculously judgemental individuals and their ancient ooga-booga reasonings.
soo yeahh good luck with that!
My sentiments exactly, tzs.

People who rejected God and had no use for him, will one day stand beofre his judgment throne, where they will be condemned to eternity in hell and the lake of fire.

I really like your post concerning this subject. Most people who are atheists turn from the God as portrayed in dogma written by man. It goes back to this statement that was in "Conversations With God" by Neale Donald Walsch: God speaks to all but most do not listen.

ok and i say to you all if god is love and the puerest form and is suppose to imitate his love for it is perfect then why would he subject us to torment for eternity.....yes i was a christian yes i was a minister, but i realised one day i was preaching lies to my people and could not do it anymore, now i am not knocking your beliefs just expressing my views on this, i believe that when we die we simply go between the worlds till we are ready (reincarnated) to try to get life right, when we do get it right then we become one with the universe.

Wow... I once was a believer as well.. not a minister or anything.. but I believed it all. How did you make that change? Was it difficult? Sorry, don't mean to ask so many questions, and you don't have to answer, but it was a little difficult for me. Not everyone in my circle of friends and family knows yet. and if I told them, I would never hear the end of it. To be quite honest, I don't want to hear it, or have to deal with the drama... so, I'm still workin on that.
Reincarnation has always been an interesting idea though. It could be possible.
I never understood the burning in hell for all eternity thing. I mean, what about the people who have never even heard about jesus, and they're wonderful, amazing, good hearted people? They go to hell? It just doesn't make sense to me.

Well my view is that when a person dies their soul reincarnate into whatever animal they were on the earth for instance if your spirit was like a pig or a dog your soul will reincarnate as that animal until you repent and become a human being and then humane being. Right now everyone is living in hell on earth because the devil was cast down to the earth where ever the devil is hell is. So man has to repent and become a humane being and follow the Lord's commandments, statues, and laws as a way to live on this earth. Don't believe in the dying and going to heaven crap. When you rise up you will have heaven right here in your state of mind.

but if they call on HIM before they die, and have not mocked HIM - perhaps HE will have mercy as YESHUA/JESUS did
at Calvary when HE hung on the cross. The one who mocked HIM was damned to hell, but the one who showed compassion
and was repentant YESHUA/JESUS told him that he would be with him in paradise ... so who knows? but GOD.
I do believe we can forfeit our Salvation by mocking HIM - and many do that today
but many do it in ignorance, and no one tells them how much GOD loves them - they are all wrapped up in "ME" or the big "I"
The person who is wrapped up in himself is over-dressed.

I'd also like to point out that I CAN capitalize LETTERS to make certain WORDS seem more IMPORTANT. Might I suggest using COLORS and FONT SIZES to accentuate them TOO.
-
Capitalizing words is SERIOUS bizness. :D
so mocking god is IGNORANT? Its ignorant to mock something that may or may not be there, but its not ignorant to believe in something so completely that has yet to be proven? Doesn't make sense... but with those capitalized words, I should take it serious huh?

Falconer, your response is a very good example of the sarcasm I was speaking of how you respond to someone who is trying to give a meaningful and on topic answer.

Call it bashing, but I'm sure they do not possess enough FREE WILL to interpret what you've said. You're speaking a different language right now in the face of the person who wrote that paragraph I was joking with. But I agree with ye.

Wow, Travis. I can't believe I missed your post completely. This interests me a lot, so if you'd like to share your story, please do! I'd love to hear it.

They'll either get a second chance with the unrighteous(Acts 24:15) or they won't. The ONLY TRUE GOD will decide(John 17:3)

here is my reply to user sflynt
it wasnt hard for me to give it all up, my dad died when i was 8 but his last words to me was i dont belong in this world and i was to always go with my beliefs.... so i went with what i was taught, i was jehovah witness, then went to mormon, then to babtist.....now the reason i was not with the JW any more i joined army and was a nono for them....and got kicked out of mormons for drinking, smoking, cafiene, cussing, and got kick out of babtist because i didnt see the need to go to church every week times a week. if god new what was in my heart then why go...but i did get shunned by my family for going pagan and going back to jehovah witnesses. but it dont bother me, because i feel strongly that pagansim is the right way to go....and to me makes the most since....the reason i believe in reincarnated is because i cobnstantly feel like i done some thing before but never did, and i have had dreams that could answer questions before they are asked, so only explaination i have is i lived a previous life. but hope this helps you any at all :peace:
-
Well i'm catholic and i'll always believe in god, but i heard that non-believers like atheists say that when you die, your body reincarnates into a tree and becomes one with the earth........
but i say they go to hell ;D

Then there are people like this woman. Words cannot express. Give me an altruistic atheist instead of a hate-filled believer. Tell me which of the two is more deserving of a place in "heaven."

You really have to wonder if a "believer" is so hate-filled, are they really deep down a genuine believer in the Lord? It makes you wonder just who the "believer" believes in and follows.

If they've been truly good, loving, honorable, trustworthy people, they have been living in the sunlight of the spirit even though they never realized it. I'm sure such people will get a kinder reception than people who believe in God but beat their wives and children.
-
I believe it is a greater responsibility to us who have knowledge than to those who do not about the things of God and salvation.
But even we do not know the things of God and what salvation truly is and the plan he has for souls.
I believe He is merciful. But I also believe he is Holy. Unless your are covered and redeemed in the belief of Christ and his redemption...then how could you even be a doormat in the presence of the Almightys front gates? How could your blemished soul endure it?
Jesus covers us for this. This is why its important to spread the news of Christ to the four corners. Everyone must have the chance and opportunity to reject or embrace.
-
It's really Dishonest to see people ignore scripture, everyone here seems to ignore Acts 24:15 which reads 15 and I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
To be resurrected you must die first PERIOD I don't care what your definition of death is. As for Revelation 20:15 even if it was literal and that's a big if it happens AFTER THE RESURRECTION AND THE 1,000 YEAR REIGN and not before. Also Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed with fire and sulfur but no one alive will claim it's burning today. :P

Nope.

I'd say even if be a bit more credible if they knew it's exact location. But they don't even know if it ever existed or do they know of a proper history of the region. Even the names, when translated from hebrew, have multiple meanings including "scorched" and "ruined heap" which one could conclude that it's just some old allegory (Messengers from god shooting lasers and blinding people! A woman turns to salt! Fire and brimstone raining!). And the entire region has been a hot spot for well over 10,000 years.

I think were seeing eye to eye for once. The scientific reasoning here will probably be flaming meteors destroyed the place and they was an unknown chemical reaction on the Woman thus turning here into salt. Some people reject scientific reasoning when it comes to miracles and judgments heck my religion disagrees with this. But we must remember Atheists and Theists alike that God is power personified and it's clear that the laws are in the science.

It is pointless. How can you possibly be arrogant enough to "reason" or "feel" what Gods ultimate plan is?
What you are touching on is something called faith. Faith cannot be reasoned with and it is not a feeling.

Because people are trying to reason it out here. There's nothing wrong with that if it points to problems and it makes them think.

I don't understand how this could even be a realistic situation. It's like saying Odysseus of greek mythology couldnt find his way home because the God of Neptune was causing tsunamis which altered his course. Tsunamis were a big deal back in the days of those oceans due to the tilt of the earth and the tectonic plates around that region, so it's obvious Neptune was using science to exact his revenge. The whole premesis is bonkers.

Yes yes our reasoning is accurate, but humans use of science is nowhere near the level of say turning water into wine.

I know you believe that be true, but I just dismiss it as a parable just as I do the S+G story. Besides, that wine must've been cheap and gross if he did it on the spot. No time to ferment! lol
-
If I'm not mistaken, the reason the US fought the Revolutionary War was due to differences in thought. When the US seceded, we formed a Constitution and Bill of Rights, including freedom of religion. I believe we should all be tolerant of others beliefs and just try and treat each other right.
To answer the initial question, I believe people will continue on their eternal soul journey when they "die"... although I believe death is just a transition to another place. If a person doesn't accept God, I don't think they will be persecuted, I just think it will take them longer to reach the light.
-
i can say this as no one is for certain what happens after we die, there is no diffenent answer on this. and yes i mean no one....

Whether the wine was cheap or not it still turned into wine. To make the point clear if man wanted to they can kill 1,000's of sea creatures at the same time all over the world to turn all the world's water into blood, essentially performing their own "miracle" without the aid of God. Now how long do you think it will take to do that and what will they have to use to do that?

Taking a very obvious bit of harmless sarcasm from Falconer ie the "cheap wine" as a serious comparison? These are the types of things that just blow my mind. Then you take it a step further with the sea creatures being killed in order to create a 'modern day miracle'?!
Oooh, here's one: How about hiring thousands of actors, dressing them all up to look like Charlton Heston (a la Cecil B. DeMille's film "The Ten Commandments"), and outfitting them with huge dredges and rigging booms in the Pacific Ocean to illustrate Moses parting of the Red Sea. How long do you think THAT would take without the aid of God - I already mentioned a few 'tools' they could utilize.
I am amazed at the scope of absurdity, in general, but especially in that mess. Amazed that any person would go that far in defense of obviously impossible occurences which most recognize as parables and NOT 'real'. Can you say delusional thinking? :confused1:

:crybaby2: That person will go to hell. If that persn lived in this world, he or she had a change to know God either by word or mouth or read or see something on TV. Now know that God protects babies and fools so if they fit into one of those then to hell they go.

All the answers to any question you may have is found in God's Holy Word, the Bible (be sure to be careful of which version you study!). How coincidental can it be for all of the prophecies that were made for the past 4000+/- years have slowly come to be and pass with the exception of the Lord Jesus coming back for His Church before the Tribulation Period begins. If you aren't ready when the Lord comes, you'll get another chance to accept Him during the Tribulation Period but it will be the worse times to live through than you can ever imagine. If you are strong enough to come through that by faith in the Lord Jesus, you will be allowed to enjoy the bliss during the Millinum Year Reign. God Bless All and prayers for the Holy Spirit to touch your heart and life.

its interesting when you read a bible verse especially romans 6:23 because it says that being alive is a gift of god but that the price you pay for sinning is not more life or eternal life although in torment but the price is death.1jhon 4:8 says god is love and that could not be true if he tormented people eternally.

i find it very interesting, how can one think that it is possible for anyone or anything or ghost or spirit or energy or what ever you think god is, to part a large body of water like that, first to do so you would have to construct a wall strong enough to withstand the pressure of the water haveing on it, in other words (a DAM) is what is needed not a broom, not a spirit or ghost or whatever saying (I DEMAND THESE WATRES TO BE PARTED)

Yes yes our reasoning is accurate, but humans use of science is nowhere near the level of say turning water into wine.
I know you believe that be true, but I just dismiss it as a parable just as I do the S+G story. Besides, that wine must've been cheap and gross if he did it on the spot. No time to ferment! lol

The bible itself says that we were made a little lower then angels, by that I mean man which Jesus was for a time(Hebrews 2:7). Also Parables don't have real events or real names of people that Jesus knew, the whole account was a real wedding by real people Jesus knew, to say that the miracle was an added parable is lunacy. Yes we have better understand of science so today parting water wouldn't be a big of a deal. Same as turning water into blood, but let me ask you this would it take effort to do those things? Considering the human race is millions if not billions of years old according to scientists we sure are SLOWWWWWWW.

I agree, Amy, and was NOT responding to him until I happened to see the ridiculous stuff about killing marine life and a sea of blood. I just couldn't resist, but then my purely joking 'example' of another miracle was taken as serious and then a step futher. You're right, sista girl, I'm done. ;D

If a person doesn't accept God, I don't think they will be persecuted, I just think it will take them longer to reach the light.
i enjoy speaking with you mostly. i like open minded people. thanks again for your view and answer to my question. Its has shedded some light to my grey areas about death sir...

People who rejected God and had no use for him, will one day stand beofre his judgment throne, where they will be condemned to eternity in hell and the lake of fire
Good thing I don't work for your company. Those benefits suck!
ok and i say to you all if god is love and the puerest form and is suppose to imitate his love for it is perfect then why would he subject us to torment for eternity.....yes i was a christian yes i was a minister, but i realised one day i was preaching lies to my people and could not do it anymore, now i am not knocking your beliefs just expressing my views on this, i believe that when we die we simply go between the worlds till we are ready (reincarnated) to try to get life right, when we do get it right then we become one with the universe.
It just doesn't make sense to me
I think people just don't want to exept the fact that they will go to hell if they don't except Jesus Christ and that is why people flip out and try to make up these crazy escuses for things such as Why would a God who loves us send us to hell? well because God is not just a loving God but also a Just God and does Have a mighty Wrath against people that don't listen to him. The only Unforgivable sin is when people rebuke God or deny him but all that means is if you say God isn't real then you aren't going to heaven untill you accept Jesus.
-
I can only pray that those who haven't accepted the Lord before they perish are ready for some really hot weather because hell is real and will be an eternal bottomless pit for all of those who didn't believe.
-
the problem i have with this is...what if someone never knew god? not knowing isn't rejecting, so what happens to those people?

Thank you for your honesty(I need feedback on how my arguments are fallacious) Can you explain in detail please. Same for you Amy.

Thank you for your honesty(I need feedback on how my arguments are fallacious)
Sorry. Didn't see this post. Well you're a good guy and all and you speak your mind, but the problem is that you rely on ridiculously impossible things to try to prove a rational point in these types of discussions. If you're going to speak to people who value reason and rationality (like everyone should...), you must first prove that these mystical things did indeed happen with historical evidence with various parallel claims. But all you and others always throw at people is an ancient book full of large gaps that can't get their stories straight to the point where the religion branches off into thousands of sects just because they can't agree on the pettiest things.
I mean if we're going to talk about some dude who gets his strength from his hair, a guy who sat in a belly of a fish for a few days, a woman turned to salt, a guy who made water into wine, etc. etc., we might as well be infront of a class of children telling them ancient stories and fairy tales all over the cultural spectrum. That's the problem here- these things cannot and did not happen because of reality and how things truly work in this world, but you are so reliant on them with your beliefs that there seems to be no wall between what can be distinguished as real and fake in your mind. Understand that this really does not apply just to you-- this mindset is all over this forum. So that's why everyone now is going :BangHead: and ::)
I'll just end with one of my favorite sayings- "You can't argue rationally with religious people. If you could, there would be no religious people". Think about that.
