Title: New Mexico Declared a State of Emergency
Post by: IceKittyNM on February 03, 2011, 08:26:53 pm
Hi FusionCash family!!

Just wanted to share with you all that the state of New Mexico where I live has been declared a state of emergency because of the winter storm that just blew through here the last few days. The majority of the state has had sub-freezing temperatures and are the coldest that NM has EVER experienced. Many communities across the state are experiencing rolling blackouts as well as limited or no natural gas because of the high demand, and as a result, the power/gas companies are urging folks to try and conserve by turning down their thermostats by 10 degrees, as well as not using any unnecessary electricity. New Mexico is not used to this kind of weather!

I know that New Mexico is not the only state that has been experiencing this horrid winter weather. I just wanted to share with all of you that I am going to do my part and turn down my thermostat, even if it's just a little, and find things in my house that I can turn off....every little bit helps!! I try to think of those who have NO heat or who are homeless, and I am so very grateful to be blessed with what I have.

If you want to make a difference during these frigid storms that are sweeping the country and help ease up on our electric grids and gas consumption, I dare you to turn your thermostat down too!!

WOW  I didn't realize the cold had gotten that far west.  If I could share a little of Oregon's warmer weather with you I would.  I can't believe the storms and all of the weather that is going on in the world right now.  I'll think warm thoughts for you.

Why, thank you!!! Oregon is way up north....did these winter storms bypass Oregon?? I was telling a friend the other day that if I could transport myself like they do on Star Trek to someplace warmer for the rest of the winter, I'd be in Hawaii right now!!  ;D  I hate winter and can't stand being cold!! But, like I said in my original post, I'm counting my blessings because there are those who have no heat or are homeless.

Successfully surviving cold requires two simultaneous events. Firstly, generating sufficient body heat by burning appropriate food and secondly, preventing the loss of that heat by suitable clothing and shelter.

The lowest temperature that can be endured is a combination of the duration and the extent of the exposure, so it is not easily determined. A naked person will start to feel cold if the surrounding temperature drops below around 25°C (77°F). Physiological responses such as shivering and diverting blood away from the extremities and surface of the skin will then kick in.

These physiological responses mean that a reasonably well nourished adult can maintain their core temperature in still air just above freezing point wearing only light clothing.

I hope it has warmed up for you.

You are all welcome to join us in south Florida. It was 82 yesterday and got down to 68 last night. I lived up north until last year and I said NO MORE. :)

I am sorry to hear that I am in Rhode Island and the storms have hit us pretty bad too.  They tempature dorpped below zero a few days ago, but I too will lower my thermostat and help by conserving electricity.  I will pray for you and New Mexico for things to improve.  We sometimes forget how lucky and blessed we truley are.

God Bless! :angel12: :D

I live in L.A., CA, where it only gets really cold at night. Tonight, I'll turn the furnace down. Good luck; I hope it warms up soon for you.

I live in Florida, and after my electricity bill tripled after last year's record cold temps with a repeat this year, I turned the thermostat all the way down to about 50.  I work from home and use a small electric oil radiator in my office and one in my bedroom.  This has made a huge difference in my bill.  I live alone so it works well for me.  It wouldn't work well for people with children.  We've had nights in the 20s, but the thermostat control never budged.

Next door in Texas we have been expieriencing Rolling blackouts due to this blast of extreme cold air freezing the water pipes that feed power plants in San Antonio.  And Visitors to the Super Bowl stadium were greeted by falling ice which struck and sent several to the hospiol.  So yes this has been a significant event over a large part of the country.  So much for Global Warming in Texas.  :)

:cat:  We keep our thermostat down as well.  We all have that extra blanket if we need it, and also warm pj's and fuzzy socks.  Having asthma, I breathe so much better with it being cooler, the heat makes it worse. This has definitely been a colder winter.

This weather situation has been really mind boggling.  Warm in Oregon and freezing in New Mexico.  Me thinks it is a sign of the times.  I always keep the thermostat down because of the high cost of gas in Michigan.  I wear warm cloths and socks through the day, and long PJ's to bed.  Space heaters are a great help too.  Stay warm in NM and pray for those who have no home to be cold in.  God Bless.

A friend of ours lives in New Orleans and it snowed there and he said it was icy over the weekend.  Here is a pic of snow in New Orleans...

Google HAARP and man made weather modification.  Google "Death in the Air: Globalism, Terrorism & Toxic Warfare" by Dr. Leonard G. Horowitz.  Book and DVD are both on Amazon.

Excerpt from Death In The Air...

Silently killing us, our family and friends, the global plagues are here, yet many people are distracted by pastimes, passions, pleasures and psycho-sensory overload, and are completely unaware of the biological dangers looming in the shadows of the world today.

With the help of Dr. Leonard Horowitz, this shocking program examines the "Technotronic Era" and a New World Order that comes with it. Dr. Horowitz documents "non-lethal" biological and chemical weapons and warfare applications, used against defenseless civilians by government and intelligence organizations around the world.

Regardless of what you now think, you are being manipulated and lethally affected, and the information in this program may be crucial to you and your family's survival.

Google "Angels Don't Play This Haarp: Advances in Tesla Technology" by Nick Begich and Jeane Manning.  It too is on Amazon.  Lots of great DVDs and books regarding HAARP and Weather Modification.

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes!! We had about 3 more inches of snow today, but because it was warmer than the sub-freezing temperatures we had this past week, it wasn't as bad. The snow was more of a sloshy snow and I think it may even be gone by tomorrow. Although we're expecting more later in the week. There's been such weird winter weather all over the place!! Hope everyone stays warm and well!

Well folks, looks like we're fixin' to get hammered again with this stuff for the next couple of days....at least where I live. More snow and sub-zero temperatures. Ugh, I am so ready for summer!! Anyone from Hawaii here that I can come live with for about a month??  ;D
