I need to lose weight but seriously I love to eat. I try to eat as healthy as I can. I have cut down on red meat and eat more veggies than i use to. but the swelling in my legs is getting worse. I have seen the dr but he didnbt seem to be to concerned just told me to keep taking my meds. any one got any Ideas?

Quite honestly, the best diet I have ever been on is the 2000 calorie diabetic diet. You count your carb servings per meal, make sure you have a food from each food group on your plate, and make sure your meal is colorful. One serving of carbs is 15 grams net carbs (subtract fiber from the total carb count since fiber is not absorbed by your body). At breakfast, I'd have 4 servings of carbs, lunch 5, dinner 5, and evening snack 1. Its just about learning portion control and serving sizes. If you're interested in this, because its a lifestyle change not a diet, then talk to a dietitian at your local health department. Good luck!
