Title: I dont think we should argue about religion
Post by: Willie353 on February 10, 2011, 06:33:07 pm: I read a post some time ago about religion one was tearing the other one down. This is very unchrist like. The bilble teaches us to love one another wheather or not we agree with them. Do you agree? I believe there are good people in every walk of life

So, if we don't act as the bible says, we are being bad people? Just because we argue how we feel?

Anyway I have contributed to religious forums as the Bible says sharing my faith is my Christian duty. But if a person tells me they don't believe in the Bible, that's it - I'm done talking religion with that person because the Bible needs to be their authority.

Post by: diala84 on February 11, 2011, 08:30:40 am: The funny thing about religious discussions is that they often end with both people trying to state their religion is better in an attempt to convert the other person. This is fine if you are still open about your views but if you are set in your ways nothing anyone says to you will change how you feel about it. I am atheist and prefer not to discuss it because when I bring it up there is undoubtedly a religious nut nearby ready to spring into action. Atheist doesn't mean that I am still searching for a religion, it means that I believe our life is all we have and that there is no divine creator beyond science. I still want to live a good life and treat people well but for my own growth and benefit. I have never tried to talk anyone out of their religion and I hope you all can be kind enough to not talk me out of my ideology.

You have your opinion, I have mine. Respect it. Don't try to put me down just because you don't believe in what I believe. I do believe in God. This God does have a name: Jehovah. His son is Yahweh(Jesus).

Im saying that the Bilble teaches us to love one aother and if we dont love one another it is evident something is wrong in our spiritual lives. Heck I love all people they are Gods people

It's clearly stated at the Bible that your faith not religion will soon save you. Then, eventually the CHANGES for being a BETTER person will be seen in you.

I am a Christian and agree with you, but you have to realize that not everyone uses the Bible as their religious basis. There will always be arguments because it is such a closely personal topic of discussion. Everyone has different opinions, and discussing those is a great way to strengthen your personal beliefs and maybe give others something different to think about. You still need to be open minded even when discussing religion.
