I worked there when I was 16 and 17 and, at that time, they ordered the best ingredients for their food. They followed the strictest sanity standards. My wife refuses to eat there because she heard about a California worker that pooped in the refried beans and people didn't find out about it until he admitted it on the radio.

The closest is 25 miles away and very icy to get to this time of year. Unfortuntely the KFC closed several years ago and its 50 miles to get any. I made a deal with my kids when they come to see me at the beach. They stop by the KFC they pass on the way to my house and pick some up.

I don't really ever get to go to an actual restaurant. Taco Cabana also has some good tasting choices. I really enjoy their fresh made tortillas and their chips/salsa bar (if they still do all that, it's been so long since I've been.)

In college I had a friend who lived off campus and she used to stay with me in the dorms most nights. She HAD to go get a Dr. Pepper and some Taco Bell EVERY night so we always dragged ourselves out to the car in the middle of the night to go get her Taco Bell and then of course had to spend forever looking for a spot near the dorms when we got back. I'll have to remind her about that. Thanks for the memory!
