I watch the news and stuff and sometimes being alive scares me.
-
The being alive part is amazing, IMO. It is dealing with everything else that is scary... the imperfections in life.
-
Life is scary for me because I live day to day and it's meare faith that Im being taken a path from a higher power that offers any consolation. Scared that I'll fail and I'll get a lesson instead of material provision. I work hard to get up some do I have to sweat a lesson over that God will see my efforts justifiable and keep helping me get up for a retirement of any comfort. I don't want to live in a place for the destitute and I have nobody but me really. What about next month? Will I go down for more horror?

I'm worried for humanity and society every day...especially in cases of cruelty, murder, etc to another living thing...sometimes I am ashamed that I am of the same species, haha. I am also worried about the continue downfall of the economy and unemployment. Still looking for that job!

Don't ever watch the show 1000 Ways To Die then. ;)
lol I really like that show.
but to answer your question Marie, no, being alive doesn't scare me. Of course things in this world can be quite scary, especially mankind. but I'm not going to let them ruin my life experience.

I watch that show sometimes. No, really I am more scared of my reaction to certain things than the actual thing itself.

I am very much a worry wart. I am scared to death of losing my family and/or friends, but I am not afraid to live. It is just very important to remember things happen all the time when they aren't expected. The world is a crazy place, but you have to live your life and be happy while you can.

If you examine what life was like in the past, you will find that for most people, it was actually far more scary, precarious, and horrific than it is now. Diseases, large-scale wars, racism, sexism, abusive behavior, lack of opportunity to improve one's lot, all caused wide-spread misery for those who were not among the privileged. Things aren't as bad now, and we have access to more information that allows us to make better choices.

Okay, I got more amusement out of this question than an earlier one I responded to asking if we were scared of death. I would never have thought the question could be asked the other way, and yet, my response to the first question proclaimed the necessity to see both sides of the coin. I had to laugh when I saw this question. Well done, marieelissa in putting this question up.
Does being alive ever scare you? Wow, what a question! You started by talking about the news. I've chosen long ago never to listen to the news, or bother reading a newspaper, because in it, you'll find nothing but depressing news. Someone got shot, a fire broke out, people die, stock market crashes, oh the list goes on and on. There's a section in the newspaper called the Obituaries. But is there an equal size section talking about who came into the world? Why don't we celebrate life, as well as mourning the deceased? Oh, save that question for another thread, I suppose. And that's just the news!
Then you have to wonder about other things, like pollution, wars, government, crime, diseases, etc. But the question is, am I afraid of being alive? No, I can't say that I am. I didn't have a choice in living. I have to accept that as a fact I cannot change. Ross Perot has been coined in saying that to be successful, one has to surround themselves with Good People. And similarly, I would have to say that to avoid being afraid, be surrounded by people that love life. Focus on the good, not that bad. Shut off the news, and refuse to read the paper.
We all know the adage, you are what you eat. I think it could be said that if you're afraid, it's because you choose to surround yourself with fearful things. One of our presidents, and pardon me for not knowing who it was, once said, "We Have Nothing To Fear, But Fear Itself." How appropriate to this train of thought! We'll only be fearful of living, if we surround ourselves with fearful things. And while some things are simply unavoidable, I don't have to focus my life upon them.

being alive does not scare me at all i pretty much mantain what does is the people around me you never know what a person have on they mind.
-
Why be afraid? God has not given us the spirit of fear. I just trust God for everything protection and all.

I don't think I'm scared to be alive. I know that a-lot of the people I used to know and were really close friends are gone and sometimes I wonder why those people that I knew so well and were so close to are gone and I'm still here. Maybe I am a little scared about what am I still here for and these people that are my age and we were hooked at the hip at one time are gone. I think about the things we went to together and I think what else do I have to face and I don't even have this close friend to help me go through it anymore. So, maybe I'm a little scared of the future.
-
If you weren't scared to be alive at least sometimes, I would think you would be missing the human experience. Now-being scared to be alive all of the time is a problem-unless you are in a foreign country in a constant war state!
-
Being alive is the scariest thing in the world right now. I do not know what is going to happen one day to the next. I am disabled. I am afraid of being alone. I can hardly motivate myself most the time. I don't know what is going to happen to me.

I think people would not be scared if they know JESUS. ? your Brother in christ

It scares me how fragile life is. But, I'm not scared of "being alive". I'm scared of dying, for sure.
-
Sometimes yes when I hear about all the horrible things that happen to people everyday, but being afraid is going to cause me to miss out on all the great things that life has to offer.
-
Im not afraid of Life, or death.
-
Yes, everyday I am scare of being a live. This is a part of being human is facing your fears.
-
In the media there's a saying "if it bleeds, it leads". Negative stuff sells on the news cause it's quite a departure from most people's everyday lives. I'm not afraid of being alive by any means, but there is a concerted effort to keep people scared of anything and everything to make them more receptive to these solutions that the powers that be present to us. Fear is just another tool that is being used to manipulate you.

Life is scary and sometimes it really does scare me to think about bringing kids into this world because you never know what is going to happen next.
-
Does not scare me. Don't want to live my whole life in fear because of something I heard on tv. I only have one life, so I want to make the most of it and create happiness and joy whenever I can.
-
Well, I do know Jesus and he tells us not to be afraid in fact "fear not" is in the bible alot. However, God also knows about human emotion because he built that into us and it is not always possible not to be afraid. I am afraid more in relation to my loved ones than anything else but I know where to put my trust and when I am afraid I pray about it and try to move past it because the bible also says that worry (a form of fear) doesn't accomplish anything (it does not add one whit to our life) so I try to be positive and trust in the Lord and live each day the best that I can.

I don't think being alive scares me. I would have much rather lived along time ago, I think although they had their problems also. Things that that scare me are things like living through a nuclear disaster or when the government finally wins and we end up with nothing as individuals.
-
Sometimes being alive does. People killing other people over petty things such as scratching their shoes and how the government is doing nothing in interest for America makes me think...why humans?
-
Being alive is just being alive, there is nothing scary about it because there is nothing you can do about it...
-
No, but I was watching a very old black and white movie the other day and I had a strange feeling as I realized that some of the actors in it that were younger than me during the filming were long since dead of old age.
-
I'm not scared of being alive but rather all the things that can end life and joy. That is why I don't tend to watch the news. Bad things are going to happen but waiting and expecting them won't change the fact that they will happen and there is nothing you can do about it. So relax and enjoy what comes your way as long as you can and live your life to the fullest.
-
Yes actually sometime life does scare me ecspecially having my two kids. I watch all the bad natural disasters happen or so they call them natural. I see all the terrorist attacks. Sometimes i am scared and think oh my goodness what if a nuclear war happens or some disaster like u see on all the movies it is very scary. So i would say this is a great topic.
-
No. Compaired to other people in other countries around the world, I think I have got it pretty easy in my life. Some people don't even consider themselves alive anymore because of all they have lost in their lives.

Yes, my father passed away on 2/27/12. When I arrived at the hospital and viewed his body it made me realize all that he had taught me was not in vain. Life is short and we should make the best out of it while we can. :angel12:
