Title: Garden growing tips - I need help

I moved last year and had trouble growing my tomatoes. I now live at the coast and am not sure if it is lack of sunshine or salt air causing me trouble. I have my plants in pots and the soil is from a bag. I fertilized the soil on a regular basis but did not get many tomatoes. Help I want to grow tomatoes, green onions, radishes and some kind of hot pepper this year.
