If I only had two options to be rich and unhappy or be poor and happy, I would choose to rich and unhappy. Being rich would afford me the opportunity to serve others better in so many ways that in turn that would change my unhappy state to happiness.
-
I'd rather be rich and unhappy.
-
Rich and unhappy sounds a little contridictary. If I were extremely wealthy I would be usually happy because I would be able to spend the money I had to get what I usually wanted or needed. If my needs were met I would be happy eventually. So I would rather be rich and unhappy.

It seems like a tough choice!!!
But If I really have to pick, I will pick rich and unhappy!!!
-
I'd rather be rich and unhappy, I dont know too many poor and happy people. lol
-
Rich and either buy or rent the happy.
-
I would choose to be rich and unhappy.

I'm not poor, have it hard, but not poor. I am happy Because even though times get tough, my family makes me the richest most happy person in the world. You just have to learn to appreciate the small things in life, even though any one would love to be rich, think people need to learn to count their blessings. It could be worse.

rich and unhappy
-
I agree
-
for me, being happy is (however corny) being
in love with my favorite guy in the whole world
and him feeling the same. its irreplaceable...
so, i'd be afraid to pick rich and unhappy, although
i'd totally want to. but being rich would obviously
have to cancel else something else just as good,
and that would be him.
(me? think too much into things? never!)
LOL, poor and happy :P

I would have to vote for rich and happy and I do really believe that I could be happy with a lot of money since I've been happy for a lot of years with barely enough money. I've know periods where there was enough money not to have to worry and periods where there was constant worry and everything is just easier with more money.

I believe being happy will make you rich, because when you are happy you have a better outlook on life, you feel young at heart and live a fulfilling life. Being happy I will be thrilled if I should win the lottery. 8)

Money does not always equate happiness or unhappiness it depends on how you were brought up to treat others. if you work hard and are still unhappy that would be all you. in my case i work hard have very little money but for the most part am very happy with my kids and life. if you want to be happy change yourself for the better. It also depends on what you call "poor." in my case it is living paycheck to paycheck. when i was not so worried about money with a better job it just made my life a bit easier and less stress.

I grew up poor, and my childhood was very happy. Money doesn't make you happy, and riches tend to bring a lot of worry and misery. I wouldn't mind having a lot of money, but I'd rather choose happiness over money.
-
I WOULD RATHER BE POOR AND BE HAPPY.
-
rich and unhappy.
-
How poor are we talking about here?
-
Rich and Unhappy. I can change it to happy by just going on a vacation or something. :D
-
i think i would probably choose to be poor and happy because seriousley, whats the point of being rich if you wont be able to enjoy it :icon_rr:

Poor and Happy
Hard times breed strength ; and you can't buy happiness!! :dontknow:
-
I want to be happy first and foremost, but right now to do that I need to make a little bit of extra money to help pay for my new apartment and to pay on some of my bad choices when I was younger. Getting my debt paid off would make me happy. Not rich, but happy.

Poor and Happy (:
-
I think I can be rich and happy because right now I am poor and happy, so I know if I was rich I would be happy also, because I would be happy to help others with my money, family, church and others
-
I'll be rich and happy, so I can help people with all that $$$$$.
-
I disagree with that statment. You can be rich and happy at the same time. However, you must be able to overcome the temptation to allow your riches to overpower you and make you think you are better than other people.
-
This seems like a trick questions since many are picking unhappy and rich in order to buy happiness. But by picking the rich path do you lose your family and friends who make you happy. If that is the case I would take the poor path. Friends and family can't be replaced and heck I kinda already live below the poverty line it wouldn't be that big of a change except I might be happier than I already am. =)

True everlasting happiness does not focus on material wealth in the physical world. If you found God in your heart, money does not matter anymore. I have known one person who committed suicide when she had everything in her life, yet she still felt empty and sad inside. The more material wealth gained, the more dissatisfied one become. Serving and giving back to mankind with your heart is enough to make our hearts fully content and satisfied. It’s not necessary to be an unhappy affluent individual in order to become happy if your heart isn’t there. :angel11:

If those are my only two choices I will take poor and happy since I can work and be happy but money certainly cannot buy happiness.
-
Money only buys things not happiness. Who has to have everything to be happy. Happy is who you are as a person and if you can look at yourself in the mirrior at the end of the day.
-
Right now I would choose to be rich and unhappy and I'll get happy. Being poor sucks... I know this for a fact.
-

But what if you were so rich and spent so much money on yourself nothing meant anything to you any more, eventually you will get bored with everything. Rich and unhappy isn't hard for me to understand at all.

Agreed. being poor sucks. living pay check to pay check never get what you want. but if i was rich i sure i can come with all sorts of things to make me happy
-
I still don't think that being "rich" would make me happy but being comfortable and not living pay check to pay check would make me happy. If I could go to dinner a couple nights a week, pay off my debt and go on vaction once in a while I would be happy.

Either way both phrases will not be good for anyone
-
I have been poor and happy all my life. Everything I have absolutly needed have been met. It wasnt until recently that I have had more money. I have been attending church on a weekly basis, and have come into more money.
I would choose poor and happy.
-
Poor and happy. If you were blind you wouldn't be able to enjoy all the cool things you could buy, so why not enjoy what you have and forget about material things!?
-
I completely agree!!!
-
the real question is has anyone every seen a rich unhappy person?
-
i would choose to be rich and unhappy, so i could prepare a life for my next generation, in which they could be rich and happy :D
