What does everyone think about this new health care bill? Did you know in 2014 we will start being fined first 95.00 then it goes to over 300 dollars the following year and even higher after that. Did you know that all companies are still not required to provide it? We have to pay for it, unless we make less than 9,450 then we can all get medicaid, be homeless and starve, then we won't be fined for it.

In 2014, everyone must purchase health insurance or face a $695 annual fine. There are some exceptions for low-income people.Starting in 2014, insurance companies cannot deny coverage to anyone with preexisting conditions. i think that silly for the government to do this to people we pay taxes for everything but still can get health insurance to take care of ourselves... :BangHead:

Not really a big deal. Employers also share in the penalty if the don't provide employees with health insurance options. Add the fact that the Social Security rate was lowered, not a big deal.

[Actually the fine will start out small and increase through each year is what the senator sent me in the information he sent, also only very large companines will get hit with this fine, medium companies and small ones will not have to pay a penalty for not getting health insurance for their employees, the smaller ones will get an incentive tax break if they do purchase it, I think everyone actually needs to sit down and read a copy of this bill because we are simply being duped by the government into thinking this is something good when it is not, it is costing us more so they can get money back into their system to get the national debt lowered, while they spend more money on themselves and more junk making it jump higher.

The problem, Hawkeye, is that many employers will simply pay the fine instead of keeping insurance for employees. It's cheaper. :( They need to repeal this law as soon as a Republican gets back into the W.H.!

Personally, I don't think this bill goes far enough. Our health care is in a crisis, and only wealthy people can afford quality care.
I live in a large city. Directly across the street from me is a hospital. There are also three other great hospitals in less than a five minute drive.
But if I get sick or have an emergency, I can't go to ANY of them.
I have to go to a hospital 45 MINUTES AWAY. Why? Because that's the only hospital my insurance will pay for.
This is ridiculous.

This bill will help all the people in America, we all need health care, I guess many of us don't know what we go through when we don't have health insurance, we are all suffering. Especially us that don't have insurance. There will be help for those that can't afford to pay for insurance and you will not get a penalized. The health care bill is a good one for everyone. :peace:

I think is more gov. :bs:. It is my right as an American to have or not have insurance. What gives the gov. the right to fine me for not having insurance?

I look at both sides of this. On one side I know we all need insurance, but the insurance is not going to do me any good if it is not taken by the hospitals and dr in my area. I also know that insurance is expensive. I have been on insurance and I have also gone a period of time without insurance. But sometimes the cost is to high to pay for. I don't think you should have to pay a fine if you don't have insurance. Because if we continue to tell eveyone what to do and what not to do then we will not be a free country any longer.
