Are you able to have a clothes line where you live? Where I live now, I am not allowed to have one. I used to hang everything outside to dry when the weather permitted. Obviously, when we had our Minnesota winter, I did not hang outside. I even used to hang towels, but I would first put them in the dryer for a few minutes. I loved the smell of sunshine on fresh washed sheets.

I usually go to the laundry. Since the laundry where I live is not working, when I wash something, I just hang it in the bathroom (takes longer to dry.) BUt yes, I am able to have a line outside my place to hang my clothes.
-
Yes when the weather is nice we hang the clothes out instead of using up electricity in the dryer.
-
Oh no,that's why I have a dryer.I would love to see my granddaughters or my daughter for that matter hang out clothes.Talk about funny.
-
Well I dont like it here in florida because the climate put the clothes hard after it dries. But back in Puerto Rico I love to hang my clothes.
-
We have the clothes line and the dryer. You are right. It is preferable to hang clothes out to dry using the natural sun that can save your electric bill. This is especially most advantageous during the summer between the hours from 10-3 pm when the heat of the sun is the strongest. I admit I’ve used the dryer out of habit.
-
Nope, not where I live. I just use the dryer which is right next to the washer :)
-
Yes, I hang out laundry all the time when the weather permits. We have lines in our basement, but still use our dryer. I would like to get rid of it and put the money in the bank. :)

I live in Florida and I love it. I call it my SOLAR clothes dryer. I believe that for a large household the dryer is right after the water heater in power expense. I figure it saves me at least $25 each month which is about what I make on Fusion Cash. I think it might be good training for a teen ager to do it. It is clean and easy to do. {lus the clothes smell great. Let them have the power expense savings. They might learn the value of money. :)

Yes I so love hanging out clothes to dry thats why im so ready for da spring n summer time.. Hanging out clothes is a fun job too me since I dnt like the outside very much but I love the hot weather no dryer..
-
I remember growing up my mom would always hang things to try - particularly bed sheets. While I lived in an apartment, I just used the dryer, but now that I have a house, I may think about drying clothes outside myself now. Just have to figure out where to put them as there's no posts setup in the yard for hanging clothes.
-
Back in my place, I used to dry that way but not in US. Here 6 months snow and 6 months summer. Moreover, apartment people will be complaining about the water falling from patty if we were to do any of this kind.
-
My mom used to do this and i love the smell of clothes or bedsheets that have been dried out in the sun. That being said, I don't have a place to put a clothes line up outside where I live.
-
I have the space to hang my clothes outside I just don't like the smell that it leaves on your clothes.
-
I do my sheets and linens but my other close dont like they way its feels on my skin.
-
My family hangs out clothes but just because we have bad luck with dryers always breaking. :D But it does cut down on power and we use to do it even when we had a dryer every now and then.
-
I use to help my grandma do that when I was a kid but since I've been grown no.
-
Nope, I live in a gated neighborhood and that sort of thing is prohibited (as they say it makes the neighborhood look tacky) so I use the dryer. It is energy efficient though
-
I used to, but not anymore. I don't like the smell it gets...honestly don't know if there is pollution out there.
-
No, I cannot do it where I live because it is an apartment...and there is no place outside the building. It is not allowed where I live. However, I use my shower curtain rod and place my garments in hangers...and hang them there. I place them in the dryer for a little while. I pull them out while they are still wet because I do not want them to shrink!
-
I have actually NEVER hung my clothes outside to dry. My mom does during the summer though.
-
When it is nice out side I hang some out on line but usally I try my white clothes and just hang up my top in garage. I work and it is easier just to do that as I work and am not at home in day time. It could come up a rain and then I would have to wash them over again.
-
I do hang my clothes on a wire outside but i do have to say i like my clothes warm and fresh from the dryer plus it takes less time to dry :D
-
Never do this anymore but now that you've reminded me I may start doing it especially since the weather is getting warmer.
-
it is permitted here but it rains a lot here so I don't do it, the clothes will smell great if I do but really don't
maybe I am too lazy to do it
-
no, i normally air dry them in the dryer
-

Right now I live in a Condo complex and line drying is not permitted and I really have no room but I have a dryer rack that I will use in the warmer months I just dry the smaller things I love the fresh smell that comes with drying clothes outside on a line brings back memories of when I lived at home my Mom hung out every thing
-
I would like to do that if I have the space to hang them!!
-
No, I put them in the dryer and set the dial to "normal" and push the start button.
-
I use too hand clothes out but not so much and more the dryer is for me
-
I hang clothes inside my garage. I don't like drying my sweaters or nice things I don't want to shrink but prefer to hang them inside the garage so I don't have to worry about birds ;D or bad weather ::)
-
No, we don't have a clothes line in our yard. We let ours dry in the basement.
-
Living in the city, I would never hang my clothes outside to dry. Too much dirty wind blowing, birds flying and poop dropping. Just too much flying around in the air. Now if I lived in the country, that is completely different, because you don't have all the cars blowing dust and other carcinogens in the air.
-
It is possible but I rarely do it because I find it ruins the quality of my clothes. I only use the line for towels.
-
im able to have a clothes line where i live but i would rather hang them up to dry inside my place coz it's more dirty outside and well the pollution will get to ur clothes making them actually dirty when i think they are clean.
-
No I don't. I air dry some clothes inside the house
-
I would love to hang my clothes outside to dry in the summer, but we live less than a mile from the Mississippi River and have a near-by pig farm....needless to say my clothes end up smelling pretty bad.
-
I have plenty of room (25+ acres) but I prefer the softness and freshness of the dryer.
-
can't have an outside clothes line in my neighborhood but I do dry comforters outside .
-
Yes, I hang clothes on the line usually in late spring and in the summer to save on energy bills.
-
I used to hang clothes out to dry, but the county I live in won't allow it anymore. I guess I will have to move to the country and get out of the city. :crybaby2:
-
Hang out out clothes saves money on the electric bill
-
Yes, I am fortunate enough to have a line outside. I prefer hanging clothes outside versus an electric dryer. You don't have to worry about high electric bills, or the shrinking of your clothes. I think they also feel better and don't irritate my skin as much without all the perfume from dryer sheets.
-
When I'm in the United States I don't hang up my clothes out to dry but when I'm in Puerto Rico, absolutely. There's nothing better than that nice warm sun and breeze drying up your clothes.
-
I do hang clothes outside to dry during summer and when it's really nice.
I'm from Japan so hanging clothes outside is very common. Most houses still don't have clothes dryers. Even though my mom has one (she lives in Japan), she never uses it and hangs clothes outside all 4 seasons. I just got a little americanized and use dryer.
-
i hang them when the weather is nice- so far it hasnt been warm enough to do so! :bunny:
