Title: How do you feel about hunting?

My husbands family owns land in TX and they let hunters on their land.  I haven't seen any wild life there since I lived there until just recently I saw two beautiful deer.  It makes me sad to know that they won't be there for long.  I am obviously against it.  How do you feel? :angry7:

Sometimes hunting is good to control the population of the deer but I can see your point.  I live near the woods. I seen 4 deer running last night which is a wonderful site.

I don't like hunting for sport.  I think it's wrong to kill an animal for the fun or it.  Hunting because you need to eat is different and I don't have a problem with that.

I think it is a great way to control animal population. I do not believe in hunting animals just for fun or for trophies, but for food purposes only.

I have grown up enjoying wildlife in my back yard and then as an adult with it also in my back yard.  It is a wonderful site to see the animals wondering around in the woods.  But I also know that we have to control population.  I also grow up understanding that some people need to hunt to live.  this is fine but I think it should be controled on what people hunt and it needs to be watched that people don't just kill the animals because they don't want them around or for the sport of it.

   8) Yes, I agree hunting under controlled situations.  Over population of Deer etc. But, for sport no..  I am an animal lover too!  There comes a time when you might have to hunt down dangerous animals such as Bears, Mountains Lions and Wolves if, they have harmed or killed live stock or a human being!

 I don't like the idea of hunting, so I don't do it! But I think it;s ok for those who enjoy doing hunting  :wave:

Hunting for sport is controlled (at least where I live).  There are limits on what you can hunt, how much you can hunt, and when you can hunt.  For myself, I wouldn't hunt, but I don't have a problem with people that enjoy it.  I don't think there are enough people that hunt for food to control population (especially deer).

I don't have a problem with people who hunt as a hobby, or sport...I myself could not shoot any animals its just not my style.

I can see the pros and cons of hunting!  I live in a rural area also and in the past few years we have been heavily over populated with deer.   I have had several friends that have had really bad auto accidents because of the deer running out in the road!   I can see hunting under those circumstances!

Hunting for population control is fine, as long as they take the whole body and don't just behead it and leave the body to rot where it lay.  I don't personally want to do it, but deer meat is quite tasty.   ;D

In most areas, humans have killed off the natural predators, so some type of population control is required.

Hunting is a necessity in my area especially deer.  If not, the deer will become so overpopulated and will starve out.  Hunting is good to keep the eco-system insync.  However, I am opposed to hunting only for sport.  We consume the venison in our home.

man has hunted since start of time so it is fine with me if someone likes to hunt but it just isn't something I like to do.

i dont hunt myself but i dont mind hunting, its kind of a sad situation i think i dont like the part of killing animals nor the after math of shooting them. Not my thing- but i do eat meat, so i have to be some what pro cause about it
