Title: A Whole lot of Moms, or Just One? Happy Mothers Day!
Post by: vicogden on May 09, 2011, 01:18:43 am
I used to think every payday was Mothers Day because I found myself paying money to nearly every "mother" in town.  OK, bad joke.  But seriously, with Mothers Day having just passed, I'm wondering just how many moms I should thank on this annual holiday.

First I bought a card for my mom.  I mean, of course, she's the one who brought me into this world and raised me the best she could.  Then when I decided to go take her the card, I started thinking of my grandma, my mom's mom who just happens to live with my mom at the current time.  And I thought, "gee, I can't take a card to my mom and leave good old gram out, can I?"  So, needless to say I got grandma a card.  Then I thought, "gee I can't get one grandma a card and not the other, can I?"  I mean, what if word got to my other grandma that I got one for my mom's mom, but not her?  Another card purchase had to be made.  Then, I started thinking about my step-mom.  Could I give my mom and grandmas cards, yet leave out the love of my dad's life--a woman who has been part of our family for nearly 20 years herself?  No, I couldn't.  FTD to the rescue.

I finally got smart and quit thinking about it while I still have money left in the bank.

What about you?  How many cards and/or gifts do you give on Mothers Day?  When is enough enough?

It's all very confusing! ???
