I've been told to drink more water each day. This is like pulling teeth for me. I found a solution that helps though. I now use straws and I seem to be drinking more water everyday. Every few minutes I'll take a couple swigs from my glass. It seems to empty much faster and I'm getting more water everyday. Thought maybe this might help someone else.
I also buy Pomegranate juice and put a little in each glass of water. It helps a lot.

:icon_rr: NICE!! try new things or ways!

I also don't like drinking water because I like taste. I used to put lemon juice in my water. I also prefer my water warm and not cold. Last year I did an experiment and forced myself to drink a lot of water and it seemed the more I drank the more I wanted to drink. We got a Brita filter a few months ago and I can tell a difference in the taste it tastes different than bottled water we were drinking before. I think the water from the Brita filter tastes good.

i agree. i like to drink beverages that have a good flavor. i'm trying to drink more water though. sometimes i just have to force myself to grab a bottle of water instead of a tall glass of Kool-Aid!!!

Even as a child I preferred water over other beverages. But it must be very, very cold or it's not thirst quenching. I put a 32oz. bottle of water in the freezer every day about 4 hours before dinner so it will be icy cold so I will have it to drink with dinner. I can hardly tolerate room temperature water.

Thank you so much for posting this! I am not a water drinker either well not all that much.. And I am as well told to drink more and more and more water... But as for you it is like pulling teeth with me as well. Ever since I have read this and have tried to drink water with a straw!! It works! I am drinking much more water, and much more faster! YAY! Thank goodness for you :D Thank you
-
wow im going to try these because i hate water!!!
-
Why do you hate drinking water? Does the water where you live taste bad or something? It's not supposed to have any flavor.
-
I should try that. The juice will give the water some flavor and make me drink it faster.

Tea is a good way to drink water, also lemonade.

I have found that those little Crystal Light packets really work wonders.
And for the person that said that water doesn't have a flavor. Water TOTALLY has a flavor and it depends on what minerals are in the water and in what quantities. But maybe I'm just picky. LOL I have a laundry list of brands of bottled water that I will not drink because they don't taste good to me. For example I think that Arrowhead water tastes like somebody put a soap bar in it! With no choice but a brand that I don't like the Crystal Light packets save the day. :) The best water I ever tasted was pumped up from an underground spring at a campground in central Nevada. Probably not enough water runs through there to bottle it and sell it but if they could I would be their first customer!

I love dringking water, but I have to remind myself to do it regularly each day. The best way for me is to dringk continuously during the day. Trying to drink at specific times does not work for me.

Try squeezing in some lemon juice, or float a slice in the glass. But DRINK THAT WATER!!! I had two trips to the ER because of dehydration. I learned my lesson.

I grew up with Niagara River water, yuch. Running a hot bath smelled like the YWCA swimming pool because of all the chlorine. We took a tour of the water treatment plant in grade school. It didn't help. I never trusted tap water. The only good tap water I've experienced was in Utah.
Now I use a Brita pitcher. It's much better, but I still had a problem drinking it plain, from a glass. I realized that, for me, it was the experience so I use a glass glass (instead of plastic), add lime juice and ice cubes. Now it feels like a "drink". Citrus is good for your liver so it's a total win. Citrus also gives it a bit of zing, like carbonation. I find it decreases my craving for soda.
I also drink lots of iced sun tea with lemon and half the sugar I used to use. Making it with sun power saves money and infuses it with good energy.

I would love to drink ice tea and use some lemon juice but I can't. No caffeine or a high acid in fruits.....Dr's. orders. I have a medical condition that those things aggravate. The Pomegranate juice is so diluted (just enough to color the water), that my body can handle that.
I'm glad to have helped someone drink more water. I can already see some results in my eyes, hair, and skin. We really do not get enough water in our systems. You can buy a package of straws (200) at the dollar store for a buck.
My water here is city water and tastes just awful alone. Well water really is the best water. I had a Brita Pitcher at one time and really liked it. Don't know what happened to it. Time to get another one. For the person that says water has no taste. Maybe your taste buds are blunted somehow. It's been proved that people who smoke trade off for taste in a lot of instances. That's why a lot of people gain weight after they quit smoking because they can finally taste all the nuances of their food.....and it's good! lol
I have a big glass that I fill up 4 or 5 times a day. I've drank almost 3/4 of my glass since typing this post. Happy H20 drinking!

I love water, but my husband doesn't. I now buy the clear flavored waters. He drinks water all the time now. They have a variety of flavors to make it easy to drink. They really are good.
-
Make sure you check those flavored waters that you aren't drinking a lot of corn syrup. A lot of those flavored waters have it. 100% Natural juice diluted works better, and better for you. Check the label. Vitamin Water was my favorite also, but found it has fructose and cane sugar in it. Those 2 ingredients are at the top of the list of ingredients too.....bummer!

you can put honey in the water, I should drink more water as well, but I like sweet, sugar is not good, so I put honey then I can finish one glass once. or I eat some salty things, sunflower seeds or peanut. then I want to drink water.

I LOVE WATER AND THEY HAVE GOOD FLAVORED WATER .MY FAVORITE IS STRAWBERRY & KIWI. BUT MY BOY FRIEND HATES FLAVORED WATER.

I drink water all the time....sometimes flavored if I need that extra sugar boost.....btw, putting water bottle in freezer isn't greatest idea....unless it's just for a few mins....

my hubby hates water so he puts chrystal light in it...

Try using decaf tea, or even any of the herbal teas that are out there?

I'm being misquoted. LOL I didn't say that water doesn't have a taste. I said it shouldn't. Like a couple others mentioned, get a Brita pitcher filter or a filter at your tap.
And the whole bottled water thing is a problem. Not only can the plastics leech into the water, which is unhealthy. But some, not all, of those companies bottle municipal tap water. Read the labels closely, people.

I don't really like drinking water but I don't know why drinking water through a straw [or certain reusable water bottle] make it easier to drink more lol
-
I love drinking water. Cold or Hot. I can drink a case of water of 24 in a week by myself
-
I love water! Everything we consume has some sort of flavor, sometimes what you need is a nice cool glass of water to wash it down.
-
try that new meebo or w/e it is called liquid water enhancer stuff. I really have no problem drinking water if its nice and cold and filtered.

Drinking water in our house is the main drink of choice. Sometimes my son or husband will add some lemon, or someother type of favoring. I like to keep a lot of ice in the freezer because the colder the better. The rest of my family just likes to have it bottled or in a water bottle. We make sure that everyone in the family drinks between 7 and 8 glasses a day. i have learned over the years that water is a good way to stay health and hydrated. My son has a problem with saying hydrated, he has passed out from dehydration. With my husband finds that it helps with his appitate. So we are alsways making sure there is water around to drink.

I drink lots of water and yes water is good for you if u don't like plain water add something to it.
