Title: how many of us know how to pick the perfect present

Maybe it has something to do with the maturity of the receiver? I'm not sure. For most people I do good on this though.

Post by: sommap on May 18, 2011, 10:06:20 am: I knew someone who did their shopping all year long. She actually did pick almost the perfect present for everyone. We know she gave a lot of thought into her choices. I know I was very pleased with my presents.

Add a personal touch to a giftcard---I usually buy something small that I know the person can use and find a way to include the giftcard as the "bigger" item. I've given a "tower of giftcards" before using 5 or 6 boxes with a giftcard for a different place or item in each box, given wreaths with assorted giftcards attached around it, put a person's favorite wrapped candy in nice candy bowl and hid a gift card in the middle, and even sent someone on a "treasure hunt" that involved them following a map with clues to the next "treasure" which was a gift card. The possibilities are endless especially now that giftcards aren't just for typical stores/restaurants anymore but now there are gift cards for itunes, bookstores, spas, online gaming, pet stores/grooming, hobby stores, theaters, gas stations (give everyone a good laugh and give them gas for their birthday/Christmas, it's something they will definitely use, appreciate and remember with a chuckle forever). There's LOTS of fun to be had with giving giftcards!! :thumbsup:
