I am beginning to wonder if we will ever have any decent TV anymore. Ever since the writer strike, it is reality everywhere, and America is digging it. Or you can take a dose of violence, or watch half naked people sleep with everyone they can get their hands on. Our kids learn this, and our generations have more seperations, cheating, murder, drugs. Not to add everyone thinking they are gonna be the next American Idol, this has to crush alot of peoples dreams that don't make it, when they shouldn't be idolizing anything, hello, It is a commandment. Do not make false idols.

No, it won't. It's not what "people" want. Our society craves the craziness that shows on TV nowadays. That's why we have a large collection of DVDs of the good ol' shows.

My friends say I grew up in a time capsule - I was born in 1985 and for the first 15 years of life we only watched older programing at home. I'm talking Andy Griffith to Soap to Night Court. I love these shows and have used the DVDs to introduce them to my friends.

Rent a movie. Your local video store will appreciate your business.

The lack of decent TV is a problem for the cartoons as well. The majority of the currently airing ones rely on stupidity instead of a well written story.

i really doubt it

I DOUBT IT BUT YOU KNOW THEY HAVE THIS CHANNEL THAT YOU CAN WATCH THE BLACK AND WHITE TV SHOWS AND ALL THE SHOWS FROM LIKE 20 YEARS AGO. . .YEAH TV LAND IS WHAT IT'S CALLED. MY KIDS LOVE WATCHING THE OLD SHOWS!

I have noticed that as some of the shows that I used to watch go off the air (Numb3rs, Ghost Whisperer) I haven't been able to find anything to replace them. It's sad but I have also built up a large DVD collection of TV shows and cartoons since I HATE the cartoons that they show these days. We watch the few shows that still air, Bones, CSI NY, Criminal Minds, but mostly we just watch movies or old TV shows that we own or can pull up on Netflix. I'm really looking forward to Hawthorne coming back. I liked Miami Medical as well when it was on but it didn't even last a full season. :(

New cartoons are even worse than TV shows. This is why I watch TV land and boomerang ;D
Older shows just have more character. Older cartoons are hand drawn, the ones now are 3D with a bunch of super bratty characters.

There are stil good and wholesome shows and movies. You have to search for them. One old goodie is The Rifleman, and there are many others.

I try and stay away from reality tv, it's just mind-rotting nonsense. I watch more entertaining and educational shows on channels like the history channel, discovery, or science channels. I watch the food channels a lot too, always something good there. And I agree older shows are so much better, including cartoons like the ones on booerang, love that channel!

too much tv i cant keep up with it maybe when im retired ill just keep watching tv till i drop dead

We have become a culture which takes tv for granted.
It used to be a treat, which is what I think it should be now instead of mindless background noise.
If you treat it special, rent a movie, make popcorn, make it family time.....you may be surprised
and start to enjoy it again.

I doubt it very much.

No I don't think Good tv will come back but we as a society are the ones to blame, if we would stop watching the reallity garbage then they would stop producing it. Children are brought up on it and don't know how to spend time just intertaining them self. I thought preschool and we had to actually teach some children how to play, all they new was TV. I personally own alot of DVDs of the good old shows and movies.

There are a few good TV shows out there, but people are not looking for that. All we can do now is rent a good movie and enjoy what we are watching.

I agree!!! The 'situation' is just a fake

One can only hope! I remember the cartoons of the 90s and even the sitcoms. They were amazing! The lifetime movies have gotten more intense though. I can't say that's a good thing. I miss some of them, especially the ones dealing with regular teenage life. All of these stories about Craigslist killers and these people who all went missing are a little disturbing. The documentaries have gone to the dogs. They were so intriguing long ago. Now, I never want to watch the whole thing. As you can see, I watch a LOT of TV.

I agree the program quality today has declined drastically. I don’t watch TV at all. The news is always so full of negativity. A lot of the programs are too toxic and morally unwholesome for the general public. With all the chaos that is happening around the world, it just recently dawned on me those who control the TV media doesn’t want to broadcast what the public should be seeing. :angry7: It’s all centered from the root of $$. :BangHead:
