I heard that some companies claim to purify their bottled water and they really dont.Do you buy bottled water and have you heard about any companies that were busted for this? If so I may be wasting my money buying purified water if some companies are just rip offs.
-
I used to only drink bottled water but since I got a Britta filter I stopped buying it because it's a waste of money, bad for the environment and the Britta water tastes better.
-
I don't buy it - too expensive. In most places your tap water is fine, or use Britta or some other filter.
-
Bottled water is bull. It all come from the same place. I live in NYC and the water here is the best. No need for that bottled stuff.
-
Bottled water is a waste of money. It is just tap water. There was a video out "Tapped" ...check that.
Dr Mercola has a website that sifts through all types of health issues. I bought a water filter pitcher that includes filtering Fluoride; fluoride is toxic too. I am very happy with it ...."Saychelle"/"Friends of Water"

Bottled water is the biggest SCAM going. Its the only product NOT inspected by the FDA and contains high levels of iron in these plastic bottles. If you wanna see for yourself, just purchase PH strips at your local pharmacy and test your bottled water. Your gonna be shocked!!
-
We have sulfur water, which tastes even worse than it smells, so we have to buy water. We usually get the Poland Springs spring water, and it is great. There is a difference between bottled spring water and purified water.
-
i buy bottled water but i've not heard anything about ot purifying the water. based on the opinions out here, i may be wasting my money buying bottled water also.
-
Bottled water even Poland Springs has high levels of acid (PH) and Flouride..do you guys know what the active ingredient is in Flouride??? Hmm..try Prozac!!! Knowledge is Power....do your research my fellow mates!!!
-
I only use bottled water. My area water is terrible!! I don't even think britta would clean my water! not only does it leave black rings or stains in the sinks and bowl's but, it also has a distinct smell. The only use is for tea or coffee because it is boiled, otherwise i use bottled. I really have not heard of bottle water scams. I only drink three brands and they seem to be good.

i drink aquifina or icemountain
-
I don't buy bottled water. I have a filter on my tap and I fill a gallon jug and put it in my fridge so that it's nice and cold :)
-
no i haven't heard of that
-
It's true, some companies jst typically get their water from the tap or some even tastes nasty and water taps better. Even thgh I know that my parents still buy bottled water, its easier to jst carry it around and drink from it. Idk haha
-
No, I have not heard of this. I only drink bottle water because I do not like the water from the sink, and I carry one with me when I'm out. I can tell the difference from tap water and bottle water.
-
I think bottled water is a pure waste of money, not to mention resource wasteful in the packaging used. We use our drinking water through a filter and it dispenses from the refrigerator. The filter costs $39.99 and lasts for 100 gallons worth of water. The water tastes crisp and clean. Anytime we need to have the "convenience" of bottled water, we just fill up a Klean Kanteen to take along.
-
I like the taste of our sweet well water, but my husband will no longer drink it since the doctor told him the well water may be a factor in the two episodes of kidney stones that he had.
-
wow! i never heard about companies doing that to the water!!! I actually buy water bottles too but they are the store brand..and i happen to work for that store and personally know how they make it..so i feel a lil safer! I live near the lake/Dam and its nasty water here! so its just easier on me to buy the bottles.
-
All bottled water including Aquafina..(which is REALLY bad) have acid in the water. Some claim they use reverse osmosis to purify the water. You guys know what acid does to pipes over time imagine what it does to your body....You guys need to buy a water ionizer to have CLEAN water...
-
We only drink bottled water and when I cook I use the gallons, Because water in Louisiana is horrible and I don't use the tap water for anything we eat or drink I only use in in laundry, dish washing and shower anything we don't eat or drink, I am a chemist and I know that for a fact drinking bad water can cost you a lot of your health so I don't take risks
-
I have heard this also. I don't buy bottled water that often. But for a few days a month our tap water tastes like chlorine so I like to have bottled water on hand during those days. Bottled water may not be pure but at least it don't taste like chlorine.
-
I've also heard that. Ad Ive heard that plastic can cause really bad problems....we still buy purified bottled water though
-
I just wish I would have known 20 years ago that putting water in a plastic bottle would make someone rich. It is most all just tap water from some citiy's water supply. Some people will pay for anything!
-
Any bottled water and I mean any has high (PH) in them. Best thing to do is buy PH strips and test your water right out of the bottle.
-
I buy bottled water for the convience I like taking a water bottle to school or to the gym, otherwise at home I drink tap I live in chicago and our tap water is fine so I just like bottled because it is easy to take on the go but the taste is not any better to me
-
I've heard that before and I've watched a ton of documentaries and things of that nature on the subject. I don't drink bottled water. I have a pitcher with a filter and I stick to that. It has saved me so much money! I love it. :D
-
I use both.
My city's water is really awful. We use a filter, and sometimes, it doesn't last, and we end buying waterbottle (I prefer Nestle or Ozarka)
I use water bottle for the gym as well or to the park.
-
I always buy bottle water, don't know but is is more convenient to just grab a bottle of cold water from the fridge. Don't know if my water is purified, but to me it tastes good.
-
Not sure how true this is ...but, I've heard that pure drinking water is not really drinkable...
-
I pretty much only drink bottled water because I know that my city has terrible water and when things go wrong (like filters going offline for several weeks) they don't notify us, you only find out about those things if you know someone in public works. I get water delivered by Poland Spring and I can tell a difference between it and most other bottled waters, just a taste thing I suppose. I just did a quick google search about PH in bottled water and from a couple of different sites they have poland spring listed as between 6.9 and 7.6, 7 is neutral and the PH of human blood is around 7.4 so I don't think you can really say that all bottled water has a high PH and some people actually prefer the taste of highly alkaline and I can't find any thing, though I have by no means done extensive research that a higher PH water is particularly bad for you unless you are considering that chlorine is the only mineral effecting the PH (which more than likely is not). High levels of chlorine in your water is certainly not good for you.

I think a lot of bottled water is just bottled tap water. I recently bought a case of bottled water that was from Los Angeles municiple water system. I thought, that is pretty silly, LA stink water shipped all the way to OH for my personal enjoyment. Iusually get one at the start of the summer then rewash and reuse the bottles from the bulk bottled water we get. We have a ground water cistern and I will bath in it but am a little squimish on drinking it even though we have water fillters. Hate to buy all those plastic bottles and then just throw them away.
-
I hate to retell this, but most bottled water is just that. Bottled water. Filtered, but the same water that they use to make your Coke and Pepsi from. Even in the same plants.
-
I do like the fact that a bottle of water is simple to carry and to drink out of. I can not tell the difference within the brands of water. For me, water is water...
-
There is a bottled water that a friend turned me on to called Real Water. 8.0 PH alkalized but also negative ionized. Tastes really good and really seems to help detoxify the body. I usually just use R Osmosis water at home which then goes through charcoal filter on the fridge for cold water and ice. But I do occasionally buy the Real Water
-
I will keep drinking tap water, its cheaper
-
I buy bottled water and do somtimes wonder if it is just tap put into a bottle
