Hello everyone!
It is a terrible day here and will be for awhile. A town very close to my heart was devastated by an EF4 tornado on Sunday evening. I was in Joplin the night before. I live just 40 minutes outside of Joplin, MO. I feel very blessed because I am still alive. All the stores and restaurants I visited and went to on a daily basis is gone.
Joplin's tornado was 3/4 mile wide and had a 6 miles stretch in less in 5 minutes. It is terrible. The death toll is currently at 119.
I am asking all the people I know online to pray for Joplin, donate, do what you can. Please help. I have friends and people I know who lost their house. My husband's Aunt is missing at the moment. :'(
All your support will be greatly appreciated! God Bless You! :angel11:
:peace: &

Workmama,
I've already been praying for them and will continue to pray. I feel horrible for those people and their losses and the pain and confusion they are going through. I hope your husband's aunt is found quickly and alive. It's unbelievable how terrible these kinds of storms can get. It seems like this has been an unusually busy year for them. I'm keeping up with the news, but please keep us posted with anything new. And please let us know about your husband's aunt.

Praying for them isn't going to make the pain and suffering go away. It's a way to make the person praying feel better. A better thing to do would be to donate your time and money to help these poor people out!

Everyone is trying to process it, but it is so unreal. I still think I am in a dream. People crying everywhere. :crybaby2:

Believe me, people are donating their time and money, along with me too! Praying is helping those in suffering and pain. Those who believe that Christ is there for them. Put all your trust in the Lord, for he is the light of the world. :angel11:

A lot of people do donate time and money as well. However, some, like myself, do not typically post that in forums or blogs where other people can "see" their business.

I will pray for the people there. My step daughter used to live there. When I saw it on TV it reminded me of what the MS. Gulf Coast went through during Hurricane Katrina. We are still not finished rebuilding the Coast, I can imagine what those people are going through. I've been in there shoes.

I will include them on my prayers. God Bless America.

My prayers go out to all affected by the terrible storms we have been experiencing lately. I praise the Lord that I live in an area that isn't affected by the severe storms as a lot of other areas of our country experience.

I will keep them in my prayers.
I also encourage everyone to go to the Red Cross website to discover the ways you can help the survivors.
One Way:
You can text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 to American Red Cross Disaster Relief, which helps people affected by disasters like the recent tornadoes and wildfires, as well as countless other crises at home and around the world.

This has been an extraordinary season just based on the number of citys that have been impacted by the tornados this year. I don't recall with my twenty years of studying weather phenomenms a year that has spawned so many storms over such a wide area that struck the number of citys as this year. The loss of life and property has been overwhelming and I have nothing but the best hopes and wishes for all those folks who have been affected and would encourage them to keep on taking it one step at a time as the rebuild their shattered lifes.
