Title: favorite salad dressing

What is yours??? I generally prefer Thousand Island though am open to most varieties!

Love the raspberry vinegarette too.  Just tried a pomogranet one and it was good.

I don't really like "dressing" per say. I like salt pepper and vinegar on salad though.

I like rasberry vinegarette too and use it sometimes but recently I started using ceasar. Makes me feel like I'm eating the ceasar salad at Olive Garden and don't have to spend the money for it :)

I'm very partial to honey French.  It adds a little extra to regular French that I really like.  That reminds me - we need lettuce on our grocery list  :D

I love Blue Cheese, but I have found an Olive Oil Raspberry Merlot Vinaigerette from Bolthouse Farms that is really good and low calorie.  The only place I have found it is the produce place that I go to.   :wave: :wave:

i'm a fan of vinaigrettes (wishbone is good!) as well as
creamy dressings, like ranch and italian. i've found that
i don't like "kraft" brand dressings at all.

newmans own is a good brand for salad dressing  :thumbsup:

[My favorite is zesty italian because it flavors the salad and acts a marinade as well. I also find it absolutely delicious as a vegetable dip mixed with sour cream and a few shredded carrots or chopped broccolli ;)/quote]

My own homemade balsamic vinaigrette.  After reading all the added ingredients in the bottled ones, I'm trying to steer clear of any unfermented soy products (and soy is in everything!)

I love ranch dressing.  Unfortunately, I love the fattening stuff.  The fat free tastes sweet and nasty.  The real stuff tastes creamy and delicious!  Plus, it's great with chicken strips!  I'm gettin' hungry...

There are 2 i use a lot. Honey dijon is great for things like making a tuna salad. Fat free blue cheese i like when I'm adding chicken or steak to a salad. It is also good for coleslaw.
If i'm adding a lot of fruit to salads I like a raspberry vinaigrette  :wave:

I like blue cheese dressing the best. I also like Annies goddess dressing. Real good italian dressing and homemade dressings are great too. Now I am hungry thinking about it.

Balsamic Vinegarette.  We make it ourselves.  Extra Virgin cold pressed olive oil (top of the line), Balsamic Vinegar, Basil, Oregano, garlic powder or better yet fresh crushed or minced garlic in the mix.  YUM!

Also like sweet garlic dressing which we get when we go out to eat at a certain place.

We also do Ranch sometimes too, but it's usually full of MSG and/or canola oil.  So we like sticking to what we can make ourselves, so we know exactly what's in it.

For some reason salads are always better in a restaurant.

 Hey all !  Does anyone know a good dressing that I can make that has NO OIL in it..?

  You see, I am on a diet and can not have oil of any kind and I know that Olive Oil is the
  safer oil,  but for the first quarter of my diet,  I need to stay away from it. So, Please !
post any recipe you may know of a salad dressing that has NO oil in it.  Thanks !

I like to try different types of salad dressing.  But I know that the best are ones that are home made they have fresh herbs and spices.  I also like to try different mixers.  I also don't like to use a large amount of salad dressing because it over shadows the fresh veggies and fruits.

I don't know why but when I was younger I thought ceaser was nasty, but a few months ago I tried it and it's DELICIOUS. I especially like the ceaser salad from Olive Garden! Delish! But I've been eating lots of salad lately and ceaser is #1.

My favorite salad dressing is Blue Cheese.  When I was a kid I hated it.  My dad always used it and I thought he was ruining a perfectly good salad.  A few years ago I tried a cob salad that came with blue cheese dressing and loved it.  Now I'm hooked.  :thumbsup:

I tend to like herby / savory dressings: Ranch, Bleu Cheese, Italian (oil / vinegar based, not creamy), and non-fruit vinaigrettes (eg Balsalmic). I've never been a big fan of sweet dressings like French, fruit-based dressings or Thousand Islands. I guess for me, salads are usually more of on appetizer or main entree, and I like those to have more of a savory taste. The only exception is if I go to an upscale restaurant where they professionally dress the salads properly; then the dressing becomes a part of the entire dish, and so whatever dressing they use is fine with me.

My favorite salad dressing is blue cheese.  It goes great with wings, and I like the extra chunks of cheese bonus that you get.  My DH likes ranch and french mixed somehow the mix of the flavors appeals to him.  ???

That's a tough one depending on what's in the salad.  I have to say my two favorites would be poppy seed and caesar!

I have a liking for Catalina dressing.  :D Also, buttermilk ranch sometimes, plain ranch, and Italian. I have had a bacon cheddar ranch before, it was ok.

My favorite salad dressing is Zesty Italian. It's strange how sometimes food can imitate life. All I ever wanted was a Zesty Italian unfortunately for now I'll have to have one on my salad but, there is always hope. You never know what might happen in life. ;D
