I do it saves me tons of spending....i shop 400.00 monthly for foods toiletries...etc and i spend only top most 15.00 for everything i put in the 4 shopping carts.. how have coupons helped you in the past or present??

I love coupons! The majority I use for groceries. Most of the time if something isn't on sale or I don't have a coupon I live with out!
Usually at the beginning of the month I can save between 20-40%
I am starting to find more coupons for online purchases as well . Every little bit helps :wave:

I had heard of people doing that and would love to be able to. I don't seem to have the skill to do it or end up buying stuff I don't need just to "save" money.

In the past I've avoided coupons, because in my house it was a bit of a dirty word growing up. My parents are kind of hoarders and tend to buy anything and everything either because it's on sale, or because they figure they might not be in the area of this particular product for a few months. :bs: Now that my boyfriend and I are moving into a nice apartment and trying to save money for a house, every little bit counts. Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure where to look for coupons. I'm signed up for groupon, coupons, coupons mom, retailmenot and I occasionally get a coupon in the mail, but it seems a bit overwhelming. Any tips for a new coupon clipper? Where do you get your favorite coupons?

I just started to use coupons. I went to a coupon work shop last month. Boy, I didn't know you could save so much with them. I get my coupons in the Sunday Paper. That is were most of them are. The first Sunday of the month has the most, although every Sunday has some. I just buy what I would use. Wish I had started sooner.

Unfortunately, I don't really read the Sunday paper. I have so many news sites that I frequent online that there is really no need. Doesn't seem worth it to buy a paper just for the coupons! (Well and the comics! ;D )

[You rock!!! That's the way to go! I'm just starting to go for the coupons and even in small amounts saving is the best. It would be great if you wrote a book so other people could learn. I think that what you do is an important skill you should be proud of yourself. :wave: /quote]

I wish there was some way to get the Sunday coupon inserts without having to buy the Sunday paper. I don't get the paper either, and I miss out on a lot of good coupons that I could use.

I save a little over 40% with my use of coupons. Unfotunately I live where they do not double coupons or give store loyalty discounts.

its too much hassle, i try to but the coupons usually expires before i remember to use them.

I have always done very well with coupons. Some times people in line behind me act like jerks about it though lol ? I even have a coupon blog called Cuppycake's Coupon Corner . :)

I have just started looking to using coupons to go shopping. In the past I have used a coupon here or there if it is something I was going to buy and wanted to get a few dollars off. When I watch shows like extreme couponing it got me interesting in using more coupons just because grocery shopping is one of my bigger expenses each month. But when I sat down last weekend to start looking for coupons I wasn't finding great deals. Do you have any suggestions on how you have become so successful using coupons?

i have gotten more into coupons in the last few months and glad that i did. i never realized how many things you can get for free using them!!!
I get most of my coupons from the Sunday inserts. I also get some from coupon printing websites like smartsource, coupons.com, and redplum. Another way to get some great coupons are from the company's websites and you can also follow them on Facebook. Every now and then they tend to release high dollar coupons for you to print. Also, when you are in the store, be on the lookout for displays and coupons that are on products.
Two couponing websites that i follow to check for great deals are afullcup and hotcouponworld. They provide store coupon matchups to help you get the best deals

On a funny note... My mom would buy things just because she had a coupon, or it was on sale. It was always things we used, but we didn't always need them. We had a collection in the basement of pickles, strawberry jam, marmalade, peanut butter, condiments, etc. :dontknow: ::)

I'm too lazy to shop with a lot of coupons. I do use a few though. Usually just instant ones or ones you just cut out of a used box. I know if you really take some time and make a list, you can save tons with coupons. I just don't have the patience to go through the store and look for specific items. I told you--lazy!

I try to use Coupons whenever I can. The hard part is finding coupons for things that I would use. I don't believe in spending more for something than you have to. These days, you have to save money every which way you can.

Historically, no, I haven't did too much coupon shopping. But after seeing that show Extreme couponers, I wonder if I could keep that up, lol. My aunt do a little. I was just staying at her place a few weeks back and was giving her a hard time about the 40 some tubes of toothpaste she had. lol

i went to a coupon class yesterday and i learned alot of things.

also i found out that there are many manufactoriing sites that u can go to go get coupons.

I shop with coupons. I love saving money. Today, Sunday, Jun 5 there is a P & G (Proctor and Gamble) coupon insert in the paper.

You can get coupons in your Sunday paper or online many companies have them online or their are online coupon companies.

Coupons are great! I know how it feels to be a cashier and have a customer w/ alot of coupons tho lol. I love to shop with them tho. Anything to save some money is always a good thing!

I use coupons out of the papers when it's a product I use or want to try. I use coupons from online sites and there are a lot of sites you can buy things for a discount, like $10 for $20 worth of product or food or something like that, I think that's an even better deal

Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
If something is on sale and combined with a coupon, then usually it's cheaper than generic. But, there have been times I've done a quick math in my head at the grocery store, and saw that the generic was cheaper than the coupon item.
Like, right now at Walgreens... you could buy the Walgreens generic brand aspirin - or you could get the new Bayer Advanced Aspirin for FREE after coupon, register rewards, and rebate.
CouponMom does an "extreme" list each week that lists all the free items you can get at the major stores.

I love coupons but usually they aren't for things I would use and tend to be more expensive than the brand I would get without a coupon. Although sometimes I find an ideal coupon and I will definitely use it.

I have been doing that whole coupon thing since I can remember with doubling and tripling. We would get almost everything free, this was before extreme couponing, this was 20 years ago.

I used to think the same thing. You'll be surprised how many items I've received for either free or over 80% off by combining sale prices, BOGO and coupons. Florida doesn't double and triple coupons. :BangHead:

Where do you get those type of coupons. I mean I get coupons off of websites and I clip coupons but I save a little but nothing like what you did. Where do you get your coupons?

that is awesome i do use coupons but i cant seem to come out on top like that to me finding food coupons is hard you have to buy two or three items just to save .50 or .75 cents.

I do! A great way to shop with coupons is to shop on eBay to get great deals for coupons. Trust me, it's much easier than getting them from your paepr, which to me is like this: :BangHead:

Hahaha... That happened to me as well. Made me feel kind of upset but I learned to think maybe they just jealous because I know how to spend and save money!!!! :) I am on my way to check your blog!!!!

I saw this lady the other day and she had a ton of coupons walked out of the store with two full shopping carts and I asked the cashier how much did she pay after the coupons and she said it 47.00 dollars couldn't believe it so I started using coupons....

I just got a great idea, whatever money I save in coupons I'm going to put that amount in a jar. Hopefully that will inspire me to want to save even MORE my next trip and encourage my family and friends to use coupons when they visit me and see the jar ;D

I try to find coupons online before I go to the store. I check to see what I need and then look to see if the company has them first. Sometimes I have to go with a different brand. We put the extra money in a jar also and use it for a rainy day!

Our household is pro at coupons. We are paid to shop now. When we go shopping we go to our shelves where we have inventory of goods for about 3 years supply. It took us a year to build the momentum with rebates, cashback ,coupons and discount promotions...now...we get rebate checks for around $150 dollars a month on top of the free coupon sponsored goods we get at participating stores.

I love shopping with coupons! It can be a little overwhelming at times, if I'm not organized or I go shopping with my son, but I love saving money even if it ends up only being a few bucks. :)

I use to shop with coupons all the time, but since I moved and cancelled the newspaper I have not been doing so much of that lately I need to get back to using coupons. I need to only get coupons on the stuff I actually by rather than buying an item just because I have a coupon unless I get it for almost nothing or free which I have done before.

Gosh, I use coupons every opportunity I get. I am sure everyone has noticed the HUGE increase in prices for everything! Coupons and the bottle refunds SAVE my grocery bill! :D

WEll, I am always cutting clippings out of paper. But walmart and smiths seem to already have the discounts shown when you walk into the stores,
I think that's nice. yet, there is some thing with online coupons I like. I print which doesn't need much cutting out

I took Cascade and Tide coupons to Walmart. The coupons did not specify a size of the item I could buy so I picked up the trial size of these 2 items & after the coupon basically made the item free. I bring them to the register and the coupon wouldn't scan. The lady tells me that it has to be the one on the picture ??? I'm like what? If you read the coupon you can see it doesn't specify a size you need to buy. She said no, Walmart won't honor it if it makes it free for you :angry7:

Yes, it would be stupid not to. Coupons save a tremendous amount of money in the long run. Just imagine how many things you buy in a year from groceries and other places then deduct maybe a dollar or more each time. It will save you thousands.

For those of you who go to Safeway and have a Safeway card, you can actually go online to their website and preload the card with savings instead of carrying paper coupons. And as far as coupons online and stuff, are there any really good ones that don't require you to do extra stuff? I like coupons :)

Yes, I love to shop with coupons, many times I have gotten things for free and paid little or nothing for my whole shopping bill. It dos take a lot of time and effort but in the end its worth it.

I've never shopped with coupons that I've cut or printed out. But I've used the ones that are actually on the product them self. I probably should start though since I'm not working right now.

I use coupons and with the store discounts I generally save more than I spend, and they have to override the cash register.

I used to use coupons more. I don't get the paper any more, so I have less access to coupons. I don't buy processed food for my family, so I only used coupons for toiletries, medicines, and freezer items. I try to buy fruits and vegetables fresh. If I can't afford to buy fresh or the prices are too crazy, then I buy frozen. Last resort is canned. Same thing with meat. Some years, I was lucky enough to have enough money in cash to buy a side of beef or half a hog from someone I knew. Their meat wasn't organic, but it wasn't grown in the tight living quarters I've seen some cows living in.
