Title: Phone calls about lowering your credit card rate
Post by: sommap on June 07, 2011, 08:29:41 am
I have gotten them a lot and usually hang up on them or dont answer the phone.  Personally, I think it is a scam.  The ones I have gotten do not even mention a specific card.  The last time I got one of the calls, the recording told me to press a certain number if I did not want to receive any more calls from them.  I did.  Yesterday I got another call, so I listened to the recorded message until I got sent to a real person.  It was a male and he said something about lowering the rate on my credit card. I told him that I was not interested and to please put me on their no call list.  He slammed the phone down on me.  Didn't say a word.  Must not have been having a good day.  If I don't know who is calling, most of the time I don't even pick up the phone.

If I don't recognize the number, I immediately add it to my Z address book entry, where the calls are muted, then they get a fake Dell hotline voice mail that is free on You Mail.  It doesn't take long before it stops!

I got a call yesterday about that.  I don't even answer the phone if I don't know the number.  It was from Arkansas and I don't know anyone from Arkansas.  Thank goodness for caller Id.
