i am going for a walk today please wish me luck!
is gonna be around 12 miles!!!

Have fun my friend! Walking is the best exercise for your whole overall health...me on the other hand, hate to walk. I always seem to do better on a stairmaster or bicycle. You see, I'm not lazy, have no problem with exercise but to me, unless it's on the beach or a site seeing adventure, I don't walk.

Good luck!  Watch out for the sun....use sunscreen.  I have to walk early in the morning when it is not toooooo hot. I have to watch out for the snakes, too!  :-  I like jumping on my mini tramp and doing weight lifting the best.

12 miles? Wow!  good for you, i like to walk but find 2 miles is enough for me, you dont want to get "burned out" and 12 miles would burn me out  :confused1: :confused1: :confused1:

I agree.  How used to walking are you?  If you are new to it, walking 12 miles at the start won't do anything but possibly injure muscles that may not have the endurance for such a walk.
If you are new to walking, start off small, with a few 10 minute walks everyday.  Then you'd build up from there.  You'd want to take water with you as your walks get longer; it's recommended that you drink water about every 15 minutes to stave off dehydration.

If you are used to walking such lengths, enjoy your walk!  (but don't forget your water)

been walking a mile with my baby she loves it when she is riding on her wagon.. i feel good walking and not get bored coz my baby is with me then she can play at the park after our walk :)

I am on a walking kind of thing, but I can only do a mile and the day I can walk 12 miles will be a blessing.  I will try to make it two miles real soon, wish me luck!

it wasn't such a big deal! i just got home back!it was amazing!

ps.water is ok but i recommend arizona herbal tonic with all powerful herbs!!!

Wow!  12 miles is a lot of steps.  I and a friend try to walk almost 2 miles 5 times a week, but we are both 74 (almost.}

Walking is great and I try to do it everyday. Are you starting out walking 12 miles, or are you a seasoned walker? A beginner walking 12 miles would not be good. Two or three miles is the most I put out, and that's when the conditions are perfect for it. The weather has been cooler around here for the last few day (perfect walking weather). However, it has been hot and my favorite time is in the early evening. The air has the perfumed flowers giving off their fragrance and things are winding down for the coming evening. It's a good relaxing time as the days are longer and that blue twilight time of day lasts longer than usual.

i walk and run since forever,although i am sleepy right now i think i am just tired.
walking in CENTRAL PARK is thebest medicine for me and for my stress :confused1:

12 miles is a long way for a beginner. Start out slower and work your way up. I used to walk 4 miles a day pulling a wagon full of children now I walk with a cane pushing a stroller with my grandsons inside. It is good exercise but i am limited now.

Take the world with you. If we walked more, then the obsecity rate may be lower.

i always listen a good music while  i am walking.
is always good european beat(i mean euro dance) or really relaxing music with "cup of kindness"

      It is the best exercise you can do. Make sure you take a backpack with water, some snacks and even a blanket.

ouch.12 miles.You have my luck.I need to walk and don't mind walking,but not sure about the 12 miles.I will stick to 1-2 miles a day.Good luck.

Wow 12 miles! My Wife and I walk six days a week on average. We walk over 3 miles a night. Then on the weekend we make a 6 and half mile journey to
the next town and back. 12 miles is great!

I walk just about every where I go. I can't go out much in the summer though because the sun i seems worse for my lupus in the summer months.  But I try to go out earlier or in the evenings (and with spf 100 sunblock!).

Good for you if I go for a walk it is never for very long and I always always try to go in the early morning when it is not so hot Today I swam we have a pool in my condo complex I love it :thumbsup:

Walking under the hot hot summer sun? I hope you had a great walk while you stay hydrated! I LOVE walking, the longer the better. :heart: Walking 12+ miles for me is not a problem, but hiking twelve miles is even much more rewarding. I’ve joined others in an urban hike before which also included many steps as well. I enjoyed it a lot.  :D I usually prefer to start early in the morning before the sun gets too hot or start in the late afternoon when the sun is about to set.  :)

I love walking. I usually go for a couple hour walk multiple times a week, but it doesn't help me lose weight. I have to run to lose weight. Even a 20 or 30 minute run 3 or 4 times a week helps me lose like 15 lbs in two weeks, but with walking I lose nothing unless it's almost a sprint and I have weights in my hands.

that is great i wish i walked that much but went i out at store i park away from the door so i can walk oh when you go into the store you end up being in their store for a longtime and then you be walking all over the building place thats good., good luck on your walking thumbs up.

I love walking!  I have lost of weight because of it.  It is so much fun going along with somebody though, but usually if I do go by myself, I take my music with me.
